Full Job Description

📋 Description

  • • As a Product Owner at Epiq Systems, you will play a pivotal role in bridging business needs with technical execution, ensuring that product development aligns with strategic goals and delivers measurable value to internal and external stakeholders in the legal technology space.
  • • You will collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and subject matter experts to translate complex legal workflows into actionable user stories, prioritize backlogs, and drive the delivery of high-quality software solutions that support e-discovery and legal operations.
  • • Epiq is a global leader in legal, compliance, and business services, leveraging AI and modern platforms to transform how legal work is done; joining this team means contributing to mission-critical outcomes for law firms, corporations, and courts worldwide.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include acting as the primary liaison between business units and development teams, gathering and analyzing requirements through interviews, workshops, and documentation, and translating them into clear, testable functional specifications using Agile best practices.
  • • You will participate in daily stand-ups, backlog grooming sessions, and sprint planning to ensure alignment on priorities, clarify ambiguities, and maintain the integrity of features throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • • You will evaluate competing requirements, reconcile stakeholder conflicts, and decompose high-level business goals into detailed, implementable components while distinguishing surface-level requests from underlying operational needs.
  • • You will partner with developers and SMEs to assess technical feasibility, usability trade-offs, and performance implications, ensuring that solutions are both viable and aligned with user experience standards.
  • • You will support the full lifecycle of product features—from definition and testing to training, implementation, and post-launch support—ensuring smooth adoption and sustained value realization.
  • • You will challenge business assumptions, drive data-informed decision-making, and advocate for solutions that balance innovation with practicality, helping teams avoid over-engineering or misaligned investments.
  • • You will author functional requirements specifications using standardized templates, user stories, and natural language formats that serve as the single source of truth for development and QA teams.
  • • Through this role, you will deepen your expertise in Agile product ownership, business analysis, and legal tech domains, gaining exposure to enterprise-scale systems and cross-functional collaboration at a Fortune 500-adjacent organization.
  • • You will develop leadership and influence skills without direct authority, learning to guide teams through persuasion, clarity, and evidence-based advocacy—preparing you for senior product or product management roles.
  • • You will contribute to meaningful innovation in a field where technology directly impacts access to justice, regulatory compliance, and legal efficiency, allowing you to see the tangible societal impact of your work.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field (required); Master’s degree preferred.
  • • Minimum of 3 years of experience in product development, business analysis, or a related field (required); experience managing product teams or projects preferred.
  • • Proven proficiency in Agile methodologies, backlog management, user story writing, and collaboration with development teams; familiarity with Scrum or Kanban frameworks expected.
  • • Strong analytical thinking, communication, and professional collaboration skills, with ability to synthesize complex information from multiple sources and translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • • Experience with requirements elicitation techniques such as interviews, workshops, data flow modeling, and functional decomposition; familiarity with SDLC and internal standards.
  • • Preferred: Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or equivalent Agile certification.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Enterprise-wide learning and development opportunities to support continuous growth and skill advancement.
  • • Internal mobility programs enabling career progression across global teams and functions.
  • • Flexible work arrangements recognized externally for supporting work-life balance.
  • • Modern technology stack enabled by AI and cloud platforms, providing exposure to cutting-edge legal tech innovation.
  • • Inclusive, values-driven culture that emphasizes integrity, relentless service, and respect for individual identity.
  • • Recognition of life beyond work, with policies designed to support well-being and personal fulfillment outside of professional responsibilities.
