- • As the Product Owner for the Donor Portal and Post-Donation Experience at FundraiseUp, you will be the visionary leader and strategic architect responsible for shaping the entire donor journey after a successful transaction. Your primary mission will be to transform the post-donation engagement landscape, driving significant growth in donor retention, fostering increased engagement, and encouraging repeat donations. You will achieve this by meticulously implementing structured discovery processes, running rigorous experimentation, and leveraging cutting-edge Machine Learning (ML) driven personalization techniques.
- • You will be the crucial link between the company's overarching Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) and the tangible product strategies that drive them. Your success will be measured by the direct and measurable impact your product initiatives have on Gross Payment Volume (GPV) and the lifetime value of our donors.
- • **Own Domain Strategy:** You will be entrusted with defining and executing a clear, compelling product vision specifically for the Donor Portal and the broader post-donation experience. This vision must be tightly aligned with the company's strategic OKRs and the department's specific goals, ensuring that every product decision contributes to the larger organizational objectives.
- • **Drive Growth & Experiments:** A core responsibility will be to proactively identify opportunities to enhance donor retention and drive upsell initiatives. You will design, implement, and manage structured experiments (including A/B testing) to validate hypotheses and iterate rapidly based on measurable outcomes. This data-driven approach will be key to unlocking new growth levers.
- • **Build a Metrics System:** You will be instrumental in establishing a robust metrics framework. This includes defining the 'North Star' metric that encapsulates the ultimate goal of the donor portal and developing a comprehensive metric tree that maps business objectives down to specific product features and user behaviors. You will meticulously track key performance indicators such as adoption rates, the frequency of recurring donations, and overall donor engagement.
- • **Lead Discovery:** Before committing significant resources to development, you will lead in-depth discovery processes. This involves conducting qualitative user interviews, performing in-depth analysis of user cohorts and conversion funnels, and rigorously validating product hypotheses to ensure that the solutions developed are truly addressing user needs and business opportunities.
- • **Implement Personalization (ML):** You will explore, identify, and test opportunities to implement ML-driven personalization across both the Donor Portal and email communications. The goal is to create a more tailored and engaging experience for each donor, thereby significantly increasing retention rates and maximizing lifetime value.
- • **Collaborate Cross-Functionally:** Success in this role hinges on effective collaboration. You will work closely with engineering teams to ensure technical feasibility and efficient development, partner with design to create intuitive and engaging user experiences, collaborate with analytics to derive actionable insights, and align with Go-To-Market (GTM) teams to ensure successful product launches and adoption. This cross-functional synergy is vital for translating product strategies into tangible business impact.
- • **What Success Looks Like:** In your first year, success will be demonstrated by the articulation and adoption of a clear, forward-thinking product vision for the post-donation experience. You will be recognized for driving measurable growth in key metrics such as donor adoption and the rate of recurring donations. A well-maintained and actively utilized experiment backlog, coupled with a consistent cadence of iteration, will be a hallmark of your work. You will foster strong strategic alignment between product development, GTM strategies, and overall retention efforts. Furthermore, you will ensure that AI is thoughtfully integrated to scale performance and enhance the donor experience, rather than being treated as a secondary initiative.
