  • • As the Product Owner for the Donor Portal and Post-Donation Experience at FundraiseUp, you will be at the forefront of shaping how donors engage with our platform after their initial contribution. This pivotal role is designed for a strategic thinker who thrives on turning donor engagement and retention into tangible growth opportunities. You will own the entire post-checkout donor journey, leveraging structured discovery, rigorous experimentation, and cutting-edge Machine Learning (ML) driven personalization to foster deeper connections and encourage repeat donations. Your ultimate goal will be to transform these interactions into measurable growth levers, directly impacting our Gross Payment Volume (GPV) and enhancing the lifetime value of our donors.
  • • You will be instrumental in connecting high-level company Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) with a concrete product strategy. This involves not just defining the 'what' but also the 'how,' ensuring that every product decision and initiative directly contributes to achieving our overarching business goals. Success in this role means driving outcomes that are not only innovative but also demonstrably impactful on our financial performance and donor loyalty.
  • • **Own Domain Strategy:** You will be the ultimate authority for the Donor Portal and the broader post-donation experience. This includes defining a clear, compelling product vision that aligns seamlessly with company-wide and departmental OKRs. You will translate this vision into a detailed product roadmap, prioritizing initiatives that maximize donor engagement, retention, and lifetime value. This strategic ownership requires a deep understanding of the donor lifecycle and the unique needs of non-profit organizations.
  • • **Drive Growth & Experiments:** A core responsibility will be to identify and capitalize on opportunities for donor upsell and retention. You will design and execute a robust experimentation framework, employing A/B testing and other methodologies to validate hypotheses and iterate on features. The focus will be on data-driven decision-making, ensuring that all product enhancements are backed by measurable outcomes and contribute to sustained growth.
  • • **Build a Metrics System:** Establishing a clear and comprehensive metrics system is crucial. You will define the North Star metric for the post-donation experience and develop a detailed metric tree that maps business objectives to product KPIs and ultimately to user behavior. This system will be essential for tracking adoption rates, the frequency of recurring donations, and overall user engagement, providing a clear view of product performance.
  • • **Lead Discovery:** Before committing significant resources to development, you will lead thorough product discovery processes. This involves conducting in-depth user interviews, analyzing cohort data, and meticulously examining funnel performance to understand donor behavior and identify pain points. Validating product hypotheses through this discovery phase will ensure that we build solutions that truly resonate with our users and address their needs effectively.
  • • **Implement Personalization (ML):** You will explore and implement ML-driven personalization opportunities across both the Donor Portal and email communications. The aim is to create a more tailored and engaging experience for each donor, thereby increasing retention rates and maximizing their lifetime value. This involves working closely with data science and engineering teams to leverage AI/ML capabilities for enhanced donor relationships.
  • • **Collaborate Cross-Functionally:** Success in this role hinges on effective collaboration. You will work hand-in-hand with engineering, design, analytics, and Go-To-Market (GTM) teams. This cross-functional partnership ensures that product strategies are translated into successful implementations and that business impacts are realized through cohesive efforts across the organization.
  • • **What Success Looks Like:** In your first year, success will be defined by establishing a clear and actionable product vision for the post-donation experience, demonstrating measurable growth in donor adoption and repeat donations, maintaining a well-organized experiment backlog with a consistent iteration cadence, fostering strong alignment between product, GTM, and retention strategies, and meaningfully integrating AI to scale performance, rather than treating it as a secondary initiative. Your ability to deeply understand and advocate for the donor will be paramount.
