  • • As a Production Controller in Target's Flow Center at our Hampton, GA facility, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the seamless and efficient flow of merchandise to our valued guests and stores. This critical role is central to Target's mission of making everyday life easier and more joyful for all families. You will be instrumental in the operational success of a vital part of our Supply Chain Facilities network, directly impacting thousands of team members and millions of Target guests worldwide.
  • • Your primary responsibility will be to orchestrate the accurate and timely processing of merchandise. This involves meticulous planning, effective staffing, and proactive problem-solving to meet and exceed building goals. You will act as the key facilitator, bridging the gap between operational execution and strategic objectives, ensuring that our distribution processes are optimized for speed and accuracy.
  • • A significant aspect of your role will be educating and influencing leadership on the critical importance of accurate staffing levels, balanced freight flow, and the impact of these elements on daily and weekly financial performance. You will be the go-to expert for understanding how staffing directly correlates to productivity and profitability, advocating for data-driven decisions.
  • • You will continuously monitor operational plans and work-in-process backlogs. This proactive approach allows you to anticipate potential bottlenecks and assess the impact of future planning and staffing needs, ensuring the building remains balanced and efficient. Your foresight will prevent disruptions and maintain optimal workflow.
  • • In close partnership with key leadership and support teams, you will ensure that all operational areas are adequately staffed with trained and capable team members.   • • You will lead and facilitate all operational Management System (OMS) huddles.   • • Furthermore, you will actively participate in the development of business plans. By leveraging trends and sophisticated reporting tools, you will identify and champion areas for improvement within the building. Your insights will directly contribute to positively impacting key performance indicators (KPIs), driving efficiency and effectiveness across the operation.
  • • This role demands a strong understanding of operational dynamics, the ability to translate data into actionable insights, and the skill to influence stakeholders at various levels. You will be a key player in ensuring that our Supply Chain Facilities operate at peak performance, supporting Target's position as a retail leader.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Four-year degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field (e.g., Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration).
  • • Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively in all situations, with exceptional interpersonal skills to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • • Strong reasoning, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and translate it into actionable strategies.
  • • Demonstrated experience in motivating teams and effectively managing conflict to foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
  • • Basic PC skills, including proficiency in standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
