  • • Coding Specialists provide professional fee (ProFee) coding services for clinical specialties including Family Medicine, Primary Care, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, and OBGYN, using CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM code sets.
  • • Accurately assign diagnosis and procedure codes based on clinical documentation, ensuring adherence to ICD-10-CM, ICD-10-PCS, CPT®, and HCPCS coding guidelines.
  • • Calculate Evaluation and Management (E/M) levels using CorroHealth’s proprietary algorithm to determine appropriate reimbursement.
  • • Identify and code critical care cases based on patient acuity to ensure proper revenue capture.
  • • Code surgical procedures typical of emergency room settings to maximize accurate revenue recognition.
  • • Apply ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes to the highest level of specificity permitted by clinical documentation.
  • • Interpret and apply official coding guidelines to ensure compliance and accuracy in code assignment.
  • • Recognize the direct impact of clinical documentation quality on coding accuracy and subsequent reimbursement outcomes.
  • • Maintain strict adherence to AHIMA’s Standards of Ethical Coding and CorroHealth’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct.
  • • Comply with all internal policies, privacy regulations, and security protocols, including protection of Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • • Participate actively in all company-provided training and continuing education programs.
  • • Maintain a minimum productivity level and coding accuracy rate of 95% or higher.
  • • Maintain a minimum quality score of 95% or higher as measured by internal audits.
  • • Utilize Microsoft Excel to open, edit, and perform basic calculations (e.g., addition, multiplication) on spreadsheets.
  • • Use Microsoft Outlook to manage email communications, schedule meetings, and attend virtual appointments.
  • • Operate independently from home with no direct supervision, demonstrating self-discipline and time management.
  • • Maintain current, active certification through either AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P).
  • • Use reliable internet connection, phone, and up-to-date coding reference materials (CPT and ICD-10-CM manuals).
  • • Work a minimum of 6–8 hours daily at a computer terminal with regular exposure to interruptions and high-pressure deadlines.
  • • Perform duties requiring prolonged sitting, eye-hand coordination, and manual dexterity for operating office equipment.
  • • May be required to lift and move materials weighing up to 20 pounds infrequently.
  • • Communicate effectively and professionally in both written and verbal formats with team members and leadership.
  • • Coordinate, analyze, observe, make independent decisions, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • • May perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Must hold active certification through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P)
  • • Minimum of 2 years of on-the-job experience coding Professional Fee clinics
  • • Must maintain a coding accuracy rate of 95% or higher and a quality score of 95% or higher
  • • Must have reliable internet, phone, and current CPT/ICD-10-CM coding references
  • • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel (basic formulas) and Microsoft Outlook (email, scheduling)
  • • Must be able to work independently from home with consistent productivity and punctuality
