📋 Description

  • Code professional fee surgical procedures using CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10-CM coding systems with a focus on specialties such as General Surgery and Trauma.
  • Apply ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes to the highest level of specificity to ensure accurate reimbursement and compliance.
  • Interpret and apply official coding guidelines for correct code assignment across surgical and emergency room settings.
  • Identify critical care cases based on patient acuity to ensure appropriate coding and revenue capture.
  • Maintain a minimum productivity level and accuracy rate of 95% or higher across all coding assignments.
  • Achieve and sustain a quality score of 95% or higher as measured by internal audits and compliance reviews.
  • Work independently from home with reliable internet, phone, and current coding references (CPT and ICD-10-CM).
  • Ensure full compliance with AHIMA’s Standards of Ethical Coding and CorroHealth’s Code of Ethics and Business Conduct.
  • Adhere to all internal policies, privacy regulations, and security protocols, including protection of Protected Health Information (PHI).
  • Utilize EMR and billing systems to support accurate coding and documentation workflows.
  • Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook: open and update spreadsheets, perform basic formulas (addition, multiplication), manage emails, and schedule/attend meetings.
  • Participate actively in all company-provided training and education programs to maintain coding competency.
  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate effectively within the team and with leadership.
  • Coordinate, analyze, observe, make decisions, and meet deadlines consistently in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
  • Operate a computer terminal for 6–8 hours daily with regular eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Function in an environment with frequent interruptions and elevated stress during peak activity periods.
  • Maintain at least one active credential through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P).
  • Regular, predictable, and punctual attendance is required for remote role.
  • May be required to perform additional duties as assigned by leadership.
