- • As a Program Manager for the Quality Team at Mercor Inc., you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity and excellence of human-generated data that powers cutting-edge AI models. This role is critical because the quality of training data directly impacts the performance, safety, and reliability of AI systems used by leading enterprises and research labs. You will be responsible for designing and executing quality assurance processes that uphold Mercor’s commitment to delivering high-fidelity human intelligence at scale.
- • Day to day, you will own end-to-end quality programs for specific client accounts or projects across diverse human data domains, including but not limited to data labeling, annotation, and validation tasks. You will develop and implement technical solutions—such as automated evaluation scripts, LLM-based quality checks, and database-driven monitoring tools—to proactively detect and root-cause data quality issues. You will also design and refine systems to assess the performance of our 30+ auditor workforce, providing feedback, coaching, and development plans to ensure consistent adherence to quality standards. Additionally, you will track, analyze, and report on key quality metrics and KPIs through regular leadership-facing dashboards and presentations, collaborating closely with engineering, account operations, and product teams to align on SLAs and drive continuous improvement in delivery timelines and accuracy.
- • Mercor’s Quality Team operates at the intersection of operations, data science, and customer success, working in tight partnership with engineering to build scalable quality infrastructure and with account teams to ensure client expectations are not just met but exceeded. The team is composed of detail-oriented quality control specialists and operational leads who thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and are united by a mission to elevate the standard of human-AI collaboration. You will join a high-performing, in-person team in Mercor’s new San Francisco headquarters, where cross-functional collaboration and rapid iteration are cultural cornerstones.
- • In this role, you will develop deep expertise in operationalizing quality at scale within AI data pipelines, gaining hands-on experience with LLMs, scripting, and data engineering techniques applied to real-world quality challenges. You will sharpen your leadership and people management skills by mentoring a distributed auditor workforce, while also building strategic influence through data-driven storytelling to executives and stakeholders. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape the quality foundation of a $10B-valued AI data company, directly contributing to the trustworthiness and impact of frontier AI systems.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years of experience owning high-impact technical and operational outcomes in fast-paced environments
- • Strong bias for being results-driven and entrepreneurial/scrappy, with proven ability to build systems from scratch under pressure
- • Excellent communication skills across leadership, cross-functional teams, and operational workforces
- • Demonstrated ability to develop scalable technical and operational solutions to complex problems, including root-cause analysis
- • Robust project management experience managing distributed teams with ruthless prioritization and urgency
- • Data-first mindset with strong qualitative and quantitative analytical abilities
🏖️ Benefits
- • Base salary range of $120K–$200K with aggressive bi-annual performance bonuses
- • Generous equity grant vesting over 4 years in a profitable Series C company valued at $10B
- • Comprehensive relocation ($15K), housing ($10K if within 0.5 miles of office), and monthly stipends for meals ($1.5K), laundry ($200), and personal wellness ($200)
- • Free Equinox membership and full health, dental, and vision insurance coverage
