  • • As a Project Manager V at CannonDesign, you will serve as a high-level specialist responsible for leading complex projects across healthcare, commercial, and institutional sectors, driving both project excellence and team leadership while advancing the firm’s Living-Centered Design philosophy that seeks to reshape the built environment for societal betterment.
  • • You will lead, develop, and nurture strategic partnering relationships with clients to establish shared expectations early in engagements, ensuring alignment on scope, stakeholder involvement, and decision-making timelines to foster long-term opportunities and trust.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities include developing and maintaining positive client relations throughout the project lifecycle, communicating design, construction, and contractual issues clearly and compellingly, and ensuring appropriate internal and external documentation in alignment with CannonDesign standards.
  • • You will play a lead role in key meetings and presentations, facilitate the development and evolution of work plans, budgets, and schedules using tools like MS Project and Deltek Project Planning, and manage the design and documentation process through construction to ensure quality and fidelity to intent.
  • • You are accountable for maintaining the project record by capturing and documenting key decisions within the firm’s standard file structure, while also leading risk mitigation efforts through the development and execution of risk management plans and proactive issue resolution.
  • • You will lead project teams in conjunction with client leadership to develop project goals and work plans that achieve quality, budget, schedule, innovation, and profitability objectives, while managing workloads, providing constructive feedback, mentoring less experienced staff, and fostering a culture of empowerment and accomplishment.
  • • You will implement the CannonDesign Method by applying process expectations, best practices, reference standards, tools, templates, and technology to enhance team productivity, service delivery, and competitive advantage.
  • • You will monitor technical quality through active participation in QA/QC processes, enforce application of standards, coordinate with the Project Architect and Quality Leader, and ensure all statutory requirements are met.
  • • You will participate in business development activities, partner with Marketing and Office Leadership to support top-line growth, and assist in contract negotiations with project leadership, the Business Practice Leader, and Legal Team.
  • • You will regularly meet with team members to monitor work in progress, ensure adherence to best practices, identify lessons learned, and share insights to continuously improve team performance.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or a related field is required.
  • • Minimum of 10 years of related experience in project management within the design, architecture, engineering, or construction industry is required.
  • • OSPHD/HCAI experience is required.
  • • Advanced knowledge in your discipline, strong business acumen, and proven client leadership skills are required.
  • • Strong project team management skills, including the ability to lead and mentor less experienced staff, manage single or multiple projects, and provide constructive feedback are required.
  • • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • • Familiarity with Revit, Microsoft Office, MS Project, Deltek Vision, Bluebeam, and other data management software is required.
  • • Licensure or registration in the United States is preferred.
  • • LEED accreditation is preferred.
