- • The Proposal Consultant II plays a critical role in MedImpact Healthcare Systems’ success by developing, writing, and editing complex proposal responses that directly influence client acquisition and retention across self-insured, government, and managed care lines of business. This position ensures that MedImpact’s value proposition is clearly articulated, competitively positioned, and aligned with client needs, ultimately supporting the company’s mission to optimize satisfaction, service, cost, and quality in healthcare.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing RFPs and RFIs, managing internal project communication via kickoff calls and SharePoint, leveraging SMEs and proposal databases to craft client-specific narratives, completing color team reviews, coordinating with underwriting on pricing, developing proposal attachments (forms, flowcharts, implementation schedules), conducting rigorous QA checks, managing multiple concurrent projects with competing deadlines, ensuring adherence to proposal processes, supporting contract preparation post-award, assisting in staff training, and maintaining accurate proposal data in CRM systems.
- • The Proposal Consultant II operates within MedImpact’s Proposal Department, a collaborative team dedicated to delivering high-quality, timely responses that win business. The company is a premier Pharmacy Benefits Management (PBM) leader headquartered in San Diego, known for innovative pharmaceutical and technology solutions that improve healthcare value, transparency, and choice for clients nationwide.
- • In this role, the individual will deepen expertise in healthcare procurement processes, proposal lifecycle management, and PBM industry knowledge while honing advanced writing, editing, project coordination, and stakeholder management skills. Success in this position can lead to greater influence in process improvement initiatives, technology adoption, and mentorship opportunities, positioning the consultant as a trusted advisor within the organization.
🎯 Requirements
- • BS/BA degree and 5+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, with at least 2 years of subject matter expertise (SME) in proposal development, healthcare, or PBM-related areas.
- • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint) and experience using proposal automation software is preferred.
- • Strong professional writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to interpret complex RFP/RFI requirements and translate them into compelling, client-specific narratives.
- • Demonstrated ability to manage competing deadlines, prioritize effectively, and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- • Ability to interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form and solve practical problems involving limited standardization.
- • Basic mathematical skills including calculating percentages, proportions, discounts, and applying concepts of algebra and geometry to support pricing and financial sections of proposals.
