📋 Description

• As a Proposal Manager at R1 RCM Inc., you will play a critical role in securing new business by leading the end-to-end development of high-stakes Request for Proposal (RFP) responses for healthcare technology prospects, including hospitals, health systems, and physician practices seeking to optimize their revenue cycle management operations. Your work directly impacts the company’s growth by translating complex solutions into compelling, compliant, and persuasive proposals that win contracts and drive revenue.
• Day to day, you will manage the full proposal lifecycle, including initiating opportunity kick-off meetings, maintaining project cadence, and coordinating cross-functional efforts across technical, clinical, legal, and operations teams. You will prepare annotated outlines and section specifications aligned with win strategies, serve as lead writer on complex bids, develop compliant and compelling content tailored to RFP requirements, and ensure all messaging reflects R1’s brand, value proposition, and solution differentiators.
• You will collaborate closely with technical subject matter experts and capture managers to design win strategies, develop supporting graphics that clarify technical and operational concepts, and integrate AI-powered automation tools and RFP management software into your workflow. Your responsibilities include editing and proofreading for style, consistency, and compliance, conducting peer reviews to uplift team output, and overseeing production, assembly, packaging, and delivery of final proposal packages.
• You will leverage technology platforms such as Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and specialized RFP management tools to streamline collaboration, version control, scheduling, and document assembly, ensuring timely submission under strict SLA deadlines. Throughout the process, you will act as a quality guardian, verifying that all content is accurate, aligned with corporate messaging, and free of discrepancies before final submission.
• The Proposal Management team at R1 RCM operates within a mission-driven organization that combines deep healthcare revenue cycle expertise with cutting-edge technology, including analytics, AI, and workflow automation, to improve financial and patient outcomes for providers nationwide. • In this role, you will sharpen your ability to synthesize technical information into clear, persuasive narratives, gain exposure to enterprise-level healthcare sales cycles, and develop mastery in proposal strategy, compliance, and production — positioning you for advancement into senior proposal leadership, capture management, or business development roles within the organization.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
• Minimum 5 to 7 years of proven experience managing large, complex proposals, preferably in healthcare, technology, or B2B services environments.
• Demonstrated proficiency with RFP processes, including end-to-end project management, strategic planning, and compliance-driven content development.
• Expert-level writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to synthesize technical information into clear, persuasive, and compliant documents under tight deadlines.
• Strong collaboration and communication abilities, with experience working across diverse teams including operations, legal, security, HR, and technical subject matter experts.
• Hands-on experience using collaboration and document management tools such as Microsoft Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint, and RFP-specific software platforms.
