📋 Description

• As a Python Developer at Ciena Corporation, you will design, develop, and maintain cloud-native microservices that connect orchestration platforms with real-world network devices, playing a critical role in delivering scalable, reliable integration capabilities for adaptive networks worldwide.
• Day to day, you will implement data models and adaptation layers between Blue Planet Orchestrator and external network devices, apply Generative AI-enabled development tools to accelerate coding and debugging, build automated test frameworks, diagnose and resolve complex integration issues, and collaborate with geographically distributed engineering, test, delivery, and support teams across the full software development lifecycle.
• You will join Blue Planet, a division of Ciena, which is redefining how service providers design, deploy, and operate modern networks through cloud-native software, automation, and Generative AI innovation, within a people-first culture that prioritizes flexibility, growth, well-being, and belonging.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in microservices, containerized architectures, and AI-augmented development while contributing to impactful technology that powers global network adaptability and innovation.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with 6+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals, algorithms, and design patterns
• Proven experience developing software in Python within Linux environments
• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new programming languages, frameworks, and technologies
• Demonstrated capability to write clear, maintainable, and testable code with minimal supervision
• Experience working in microservices-based, containerized system architectures
