- • Design and implement multi-file coding tasks focused on bug resolution, feature development, refactoring, and test generation for production-realistic software engineering scenarios.
- • Write clear, precise natural-language specifications and reference implementations that accurately define coding tasks and expected outcomes.
- • Develop and extend comprehensive unit and integration test suites using frameworks such as pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, or Go testing to validate code correctness and edge case handling.
- • Review peer-generated coding tasks for correctness, clarity, realism, and alignment with specifications, identifying ambiguities, edge cases, and potential failure modes.
- • Ensure strict alignment between task specifications, reference implementations, and expected outputs to maintain high-quality evaluation standards.
- • Work on a project-based, part-time consultant basis with full autonomy over schedule and workload pacing.
- • Contribute to the evaluation of software engineering tasks for a leading AI lab, focusing on realistic, production-grade codebases.
- • Navigate and debug large, complex, multi-file codebases across diverse technology stacks.
- • Participate in code reviews and refactoring efforts, applying best practices to improve code quality and maintainability.
- • Perform production migrations and system upgrades as part of task design and evaluation, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum accuracy.
- • Provide structured, actionable feedback on peer submissions, highlighting strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities for improvement.
- • Operate independently with own tools and resources; no equipment or infrastructure is provided by the company.
- • Maintain professional written proficiency in English at an advanced level for all documentation, specifications, and feedback.
- • Deliver high-quality, validated artifacts including reference implementations, test suites, and review reports for each assigned project.
- • Accept project assignments on a per-project basis with compensation tied to anticipated completion time, not hourly wages.
- • May simultaneously engage with other vendors or employers, provided such arrangements do not conflict with this role’s requirements or agreements.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3–7 years of professional software engineering experience
- • Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript
- • Backend or full-stack development experience in production systems
- • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, Go testing)
- • Proven ability to debug and navigate large, multi-file codebases
- • Advanced professional written proficiency in English
