- • Design and implement multi-file coding tasks focused on bug resolution, feature development, refactoring, and test generation for production-grade software systems.
- • Write clear, precise natural-language specifications and reference implementations that accurately define coding challenges and expected outcomes.
- • Develop and extend comprehensive unit and integration test suites using frameworks such as pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, or Go testing to validate code correctness and robustness.
- • Review peer-generated coding tasks for correctness, clarity, realism, and alignment with specified requirements, identifying edge cases, ambiguities, and potential failure modes.
- • Ensure strict alignment between natural-language specifications, reference code implementations, and expected outputs across all assigned projects.
- • Navigate and debug large, complex, multi-file codebases to understand context, dependencies, and architectural patterns before designing or evaluating tasks.
- • Participate in code reviews and refactoring activities to improve code quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices in production environments.
- • Contribute to production migrations by designing realistic scenarios that simulate real-world system upgrades, dependency changes, or legacy modernization efforts.
- • Work independently on a project-based, part-time consultant basis with full control over schedule and workload pacing.
- • Deliver high-quality, production-realistic software engineering tasks that reflect actual challenges faced in leading AI labs and enterprise environments.
- • Provide structured, actionable feedback on peer submissions, focusing on technical accuracy, code quality, documentation clarity, and test coverage completeness.
- • Maintain professional written proficiency in English to produce clear, unambiguous specifications, reviews, and documentation for global technical audiences.
- • Use own tools and infrastructure to complete all work; no company-provided equipment or software is provided.
- • May concurrently provide services to other vendors or employers, provided such arrangements do not conflict with project obligations or confidentiality requirements.
- • Receive payment on a per-project basis, with rates estimated based on anticipated time to complete each task.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3–7 years of professional software engineering experience
- • Advanced professional written proficiency in English
- • Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript
- • Backend or full-stack development experience in production systems
- • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, Go testing)
- • Proven ability to debug and navigate large, multi-file codebases
