- • Design and implement multi-file coding tasks focused on bug resolution, feature development, refactoring, and test generation for production-realistic software engineering scenarios.
- • Write clear, precise natural-language specifications and reference implementations that accurately define expected behavior and implementation requirements.
- • Develop and extend comprehensive unit and integration test suites using frameworks such as pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, or Go testing to validate code correctness and edge case handling.
- • Review peer-generated coding tasks for correctness, clarity, realism, and alignment with specifications, identifying ambiguities, edge cases, and potential failure modes.
- • Ensure strict alignment between task specifications, reference code implementations, and expected outputs across diverse software environments.
- • Contribute to the evaluation of software engineering tasks in a project-based consultant role, with no direct team management or product ownership responsibilities.
- • Work remotely with full autonomy over schedule, tools, and workflow; no fixed hours or mandatory meetings are required.
- • Operate as an independent contractor providing services exclusively on a per-project basis, with compensation determined by anticipated task completion time.
- • Maintain professional written proficiency in English to produce high-quality documentation, specifications, and feedback in all deliverables.
- • Navigate and debug large, complex, multi-file codebases across Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and optionally Java, C#, or Go environments.
- • Perform code reviews, refactoring, and production migrations as part of task design and evaluation, ensuring maintainability and scalability of implemented solutions.
- • Collaborate asynchronously with an AI lab and peer contributors to improve the quality and realism of software engineering evaluation datasets.
- • Retain the right to simultaneously provide services to other vendors or employers, provided those arrangements do not conflict with project obligations.
- • Deliver robust test coverage, validation artifacts, and structured, actionable peer review feedback as core outputs of each assigned project.
- • Work independently without direct supervision, relying on self-driven execution and adherence to detailed task guidelines.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3–7 years of professional software engineering experience
- • Advanced professional written proficiency in English
- • Strong proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript
- • Backend or full-stack development experience in production systems
- • Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., pytest, Jest, JUnit, xUnit, Go testing)
- • Proven ability to debug and navigate large, multi-file codebases
