📋 Description

• As a Python Scraping Developer at Onhires Inc., you will play a critical role in powering the data engine of a Berlin-based, remote-first scale-up that delivers cutting-edge market intelligence to the automotive industry. Your work will directly enable accurate, timely, and scalable data collection that fuels strategic decision-making for clients across global markets.
• You will own the full lifecycle of high-volume web scraping pipelines — from design and development to deployment, monitoring, and optimization — ensuring data integrity, system resilience, and seamless integration with downstream analytics and API services.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include:
• Designing, developing, testing, and deploying robust web scraping scripts and crawlers using advanced Python tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Requests, and BeautifulSoup to extract structured data from complex, dynamic websites.
• Architecting and maintaining asynchronous scraping systems capable of handling massive-scale data extraction workloads with high throughput and fault tolerance.
• Implementing, monitoring, and optimizing sophisticated anti-blocking strategies, including proxy rotation, header manipulation, and behavioral mimicking, to ensure consistent uptime and evasion of anti-bot measures.
• Managing and automating data ingestion pipelines, integrating scraped data with external REST APIs and internal storage systems for reliable, real-time data flow.
• Debugging, monitoring, and continuously improving scraper performance, reliability, and data quality through logging, alerting, and metric-driven optimization.
• Collaborating closely with backend and data engineers to enhance core scraping infrastructure, shared tooling, logging frameworks, and monitoring dashboards.
• Supporting DevOps initiatives by containerizing applications with Docker, managing Linux-based environments, and contributing to CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment.
• You will join a highly skilled, international, and remote-first engineering team that values technical excellence, ownership, and innovation. 🎯 Requirements

• Proven, hands-on professional experience in high-volume web scraping and data extraction using Python.
• Solid understanding of HTML parsing, browser automation techniques (e.g., Playwright, Selenium), and asynchronous programming models.
• Proficiency with leading web scraping frameworks such as Playwright, Scrapy, or Selenium.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, HTTP protocols, and effective proxy management strategies for evading detection and ensuring reliability.
• Familiarity with both SQL and NoSQL databases for efficient data storage, querying, and processing.
• Experience with Docker, Linux environments, and version control (Git) for infrastructure and deployment workflows.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken) for effective collaboration in an international, remote-first team.
• Self-driven, detail-oriented mindset with the ability to take full ownership of complex, end-to-end scraping projects.
