📋 Description

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 3 QA engineers by setting clear ownership areas, performance expectations, and career growth paths.
• Define and own the end-to-end QA strategy, including test planning, case design, reporting, and continuous improvement, adapting it to evolving AI-assisted engineering workflows.
• Design and maintain an automated test framework covering core platform workflows such as transactions, onboarding, and platform operations.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, CircleCI) to enforce quality gates and ensure regression coverage runs on every build.
• Partner closely with product and engineering teams to review requirements, identify testability issues early, and advocate for quality throughout the development lifecycle.
• Track and report on key quality metrics including defect trends, test coverage, team performance, and release readiness to engineering leadership.
• Triage and investigate production issues, coordinate root cause analysis, and ensure all fixes are covered by regression tests.
• Evaluate and introduce new tooling, AI-assisted testing approaches, or processes as Hiive’s platform and team scale.
• Write clear test plans, test cases, and quality reports for both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Operate in a fast-paced, high-ownership environment where processes are defined and driven by the QA team, not merely followed.
• Support the evolution of QA practices in environments where engineers use AI coding assistants such as Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code in daily work.
• Collaborate within a small, dynamic engineering team where QA and engineering work closely together to ensure product reliability and scalability.
• Contribute to the adoption of performance testing or security testing practices as needed to meet platform demands.
• Utilize API testing tools such as Postman or REST-Assured to validate backend functionality and integrations.
• Maintain compliance with industry standards in a fintech and marketplace platform environment with regulated software requirements.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of software QA experience, with at least 2 years managing QA engineers
• Demonstrated experience defining and driving QA strategy
• Experience evolving QA practices for AI-assisted engineering workflows
• Strong hands-on experience with test automation frameworks — Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, or equivalent
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or similar)
• Solid understanding of testing methodologies: functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end
