  • • As a Quantum Research Scientist Intern at NVIDIA, you will contribute to cutting-edge research in quantum error correction by developing automated pipelines that leverage AI and machine learning to discover high-performance quantum codes for realistic quantum systems.
  • • Day to day, you will design and implement automated quantum error correcting code discovery protocols, integrate classical and bespoke machine learning methods to identify optimal code constructions, and evaluate fault-tolerant circuit performance using simulation tools while incorporating hardware constraints from physical quantum systems.
  • • You will join NVIDIA’s quantum computing team, which builds accelerated platforms like cuQuantum, CUDA-Q, and Ising that empower researchers worldwide to simulate and scale quantum systems, working in a diverse, innovative environment focused on pushing the boundaries of AI and quantum computing.
  • • This role offers the opportunity to gain deep expertise in quantum error correction, AI-driven scientific automation, GPU-accelerated quantum simulation, and advanced machine learning techniques, while contributing to publishable research and building skills that bridge quantum physics, computer science, and AI.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Physics, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • • Proficiency in Python and background in quantum computing fundamentals, especially superconducting qubits and circuit QED.
  • • Familiarity with, or ability to quickly ramp up on, standard quantum superconducting qubit chip design software.
  • • Exposure to electromagnetic simulation tools such as Ansys HFSS, Palace, or comparable solvers.
  • • Good teamwork, communication, and documentation skills.
