- • Ferguson Enterprises, a Fortune 500 company with a rich history dating back to 1953, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Quotations Specialist to join our dynamic team supporting the Southeast Water and Wastewater Treatment Plant sector. This is a fully remote opportunity, requiring availability during the Eastern Standard Time (EST) business hours, offering a chance to contribute to building better infrastructure, homes, and businesses across the nation.
- • As a Quotations Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the success of complex water and wastewater treatment plant projects by meticulously analyzing project documents and collaborating with key stakeholders. Your primary responsibility will be to generate highly detailed scopes of materials, precisely aligned with project requirements, thereby simplifying the procurement and execution phases for our clients.
- • Your day-to-day activities will involve a thorough review of project schedules to understand the scope of work and associated timelines, ensuring efficient project planning and resource allocation. You will dive deep into project specifications, blueprints, and detailed drawings, critically analyzing them to identify any potential issues, ambiguities, or discrepancies that could impact the project's outcome.
- • Proactive communication is key in this role. You will be instrumental in setting up and conducting crucial review meetings with Project Managers and Plant sales associates before commencing material takeoffs. This collaborative approach ensures a shared understanding of the project's objectives and requirements from the outset.
- • When necessary, you will expertly draft and submit Requests for Information (RFIs) to engineers to clarify any unresolved issues or obtain necessary details, ensuring that all project documentation is accurate and complete.
- • The core of your function will be performing detailed material takeoffs. This involves meticulously identifying, quantifying, and documenting all required materials based on the project's plans and specifications. You will be responsible for marking up plans accordingly, highlighting items that have been accounted for to maintain a clear audit trail and prevent omissions.
- • Accuracy and thoroughness extend to data entry. You will enter detailed information for each item, including specifications, phase, system, location, and any relevant notes, ensuring that our internal systems are updated with precise project data.
- • Effective vendor coordination is essential. You will liaise with vendors to ensure that pricing data is received promptly and accurately, which is critical for generating competitive and realistic bids.
- • You will also be tasked with noting any specific qualifications or proposed alternatives to the original plans or specifications, providing valuable insights and potential cost-saving or efficiency-enhancing options.
- • Upon completion of the takeoff process, you will conduct a comprehensive review of all project data for accuracy and completeness before releasing it to the Sales Associates, empowering them with the information needed to finalize proposals and secure business.
- • This role demands a keen eye for detail, a strong understanding of construction documents, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. By ensuring the accuracy and completeness of material takeoffs, you directly contribute to Ferguson's reputation for excellence and our mission to make our customers’ complex projects simple, successful, and sustainable.
- • Ferguson is committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive work environment where associates are valued for their contributions. We believe in a holistic approach to well-being, offering comprehensive benefits and programs designed to support your mental, physical, and financial health. Join us and build a career you are proud of at a company that believes in building something meaningful.
