- • As a Billing Lead at Candid Health, you will play a critical role in transforming one of the most inefficient parts of the U.S. healthcare system—medical billing—by leading a team that ensures healthcare providers get paid accurately and efficiently through innovative software solutions.
- • Your leadership will directly impact the company’s mission to reduce administrative waste in healthcare, where providers currently spend over $250 billion annually on billing overhead, by driving operational excellence and preventive revenue cycle strategies.
- • You will lead, support, and unblock a team of medical billers responsible for managing client claims, ensuring timely submission, follow-up, and resolution to meet billing targets and KPIs.
- • You will monitor team productivity and quality metrics, identify bottlenecks in the billing lifecycle, and implement process improvements to increase operational effectiveness and reduce denials.
- • You will analyze claims data to detect patterns in rejections, denials, and payment delays, using insights to inform product and engineering teams about needed software enhancements.
- • You will own and drive initiatives focused on preventive revenue cycle management, such as improving upstream eligibility checks, authorization processes, and charge capture to stop issues before they occur.
- • You will collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and customer success teams to translate billing challenges into technical requirements and validate solutions.
- • You will manage EDI enrollments, payment posting and reconciliation, denial resolution, and multi-state, multi-specialty billing operations, including telehealth-specific workflows.
- • You will foster a culture of continuous learning and accountability within the team, mentoring billers to develop expertise in complex payer rules and regulatory changes.
- • You will communicate complex billing concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring alignment across teams on priorities and outcomes.
- • You will work in a remote-first environment with a mission-driven team that values autonomy, transparency, and equity, where your experience will directly shape how technology simplifies healthcare finance.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience leading medical billing or revenue cycle management teams in a healthcare or health tech environment.
- • Deep expertise across multiple specialties, multi-state billing regulations, and telehealth billing workflows.
- • Strong analytical skills with a preventive mindset focused on reducing denials and rejections through upstream process improvements.
- • Hands-on experience with EDI enrollments, payment posting and reconciliation, denial resolution and management, and other core RCM functions.
- • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex billing concepts clearly in writing and verbally to diverse audiences.
