  • • As the first in-house Recruiter at FAR.AI, you will play a pivotal role in scaling a mission-driven AI safety organization from 40+ to approximately 80+ staff over the next 12–18 months, directly enabling breakthrough research in AI safety, policy, and governance by attracting highly specialized talent aligned with the organization’s serious, intentional culture.
  • • You will partner with leadership and hiring managers to shape not only who joins FAR.AI but how the organization grows — establishing high-integrity, repeatable recruiting processes that reflect the rigor and societal impact of its work in red-teaming frontier models, advising policymakers, and supporting global AI safety initiatives.
  • • Day to day, you will own full-cycle recruiting for a diverse portfolio of 5–8 concurrent roles spanning technical (e.g., ML researchers, AI engineers) and non-technical functions (e.g., events, communications, operations), managing requisitions from intake to offer while balancing speed, quality, and candidate experience.
  • • You will collaborate closely with hiring managers to define role scopes, build success profiles, advise on hiring strategy, and coach stakeholders on best practices, ensuring alignment between talent needs and organizational goals in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment.
  • • You will proactively source candidates using diverse channels — including professional networks, academic communities, and industry events — with particular focus on hard-to-fill, niche technical and research roles requiring deep domain expertise in AI safety, machine learning, or policy.
  • • You will drive assessment processes by coordinating screenings, interviews, and evaluations, providing timely feedback, supporting offer negotiations, and ensuring a thoughtful, inclusive candidate experience that reflects FAR.AI’s values of integrity and collaboration.
  • • As the foundational recruiter, you will build and continuously improve recruiting foundations — creating documentation, standardizing workflows, developing talent pipelines, and establishing employer branding practices that scale with the organization’s growth.
  • • You will represent FAR.AI professionally to candidates at every touchpoint, communicating the mission, impact, and culture of the organization clearly and compellingly to attract mission-aligned individuals who are motivated by long-term societal benefit.
  • • You will join a lean, high-impact People team reporting to the Head of People, operating in a culture of ownership, transparency, and intellectual rigor where your work directly enables the organization’s ability to advance AI safety research and global coordination efforts.
  • • In this role, you will gain deep exposure to cutting-edge AI safety work, develop expertise in recruiting for highly specialized technical and research talent, and build scalable recruiting systems from the ground up — positioning you as a strategic partner in an organization shaping the future of responsible AI development.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 4–6 years of full-cycle recruiting experience with a proven track record in both technical and non-technical hiring, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer management.
  • • Demonstrated ability to manage 5–8 concurrent requisitions effectively while maintaining high standards of candidate experience and hiring quality.
  • • Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills, with experience advising and partnering directly with hiring managers to define role requirements and hiring strategy.
  • • Comfort operating in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment with a high degree of ownership, initiative, and ability to build processes from first principles.
