📋 Description
- • As a Regional Coverage Account Executive for the East territory at MagicSchool Inc., you will be at the forefront of revolutionizing K-12 education through the power of generative AI. This is a unique opportunity to join a rapidly growing, mission-driven company that has already empowered over 7 million teachers globally. You will be instrumental in introducing our premier AI platform to large, complex school districts across the eastern United States, acting as a vital utility player to support and extend the reach of our broader sales team.
- • Your primary mission will be to develop and manage a robust sales pipeline, ensuring that MagicSchool is adopted as the go-to solution for districts grappling with teacher burnout and seeking to significantly enhance student learning outcomes. This role demands a highly proactive and strategic approach, requiring you to expertly tailor our innovative offerings to meet the specific, often intricate, needs of large educational institutions.
- • You will be responsible for positioning MagicSchool as the indispensable partner for these districts, navigating competitive landscapes and demonstrating the profound value our platform brings. This involves cultivating deep, trust-based relationships with key stakeholders, including superintendent cabinet members, district technology leaders, and curriculum directors, to build consensus and drive critical procurement decisions.
- • A key aspect of this role is your ability to leverage successful implementations in one district to inspire and facilitate conversations with neighboring districts. This expansionary approach requires a keen understanding of regional dynamics and a proven track record of replicating success across diverse educational environments.
- • You will be adept at managing the entire sales cycle for enterprise-level deals, which often involves navigating complex procurement processes. This includes, but is not limited to, handling legal reviews, responding to intricate Requests for Proposals (RFPs), managing pilot programs, and conducting Proofs of Concept (POCs) to showcase the efficacy of our AI solutions.
- • Success in this role hinges on your ability to collaborate seamlessly with internal teams. You will work closely with our product development, finance, customer success, marketing, and legal departments to customize our platform and service offerings, ensuring they precisely align with the unique requirements and strategic objectives of large school districts.
- • This position requires a significant commitment to travel, with approximately 40% of your time dedicated to visiting districts, attending conferences, and building face-to-face relationships across the East region. This travel is essential for understanding local needs, demonstrating our commitment, and solidifying our presence.
- • You will be expected to consistently achieve and exceed ambitious booking targets by closing deals and diligently developing a healthy, predictable pipeline. Your ability to forecast accurately and manage your territory effectively will be critical to your success and the company's growth.
- • Beyond closing deals, you will be tasked with establishing and solidifying MagicSchool's presence as the leading AI solution in the K-12 education sector within your assigned territory. This involves not just selling a product, but evangelizing a vision for the future of education.
- • The ideal candidate possesses a unique blend of strategic thinking, relationship-building prowess, and exceptional execution skills. You will need to be a quick learner, deeply curious, and resourceful, with a natural talent for creative problem-solving in dynamic environments.
- • Your ability to network effectively, demonstrate high emotional intelligence, communicate with clarity and warmth, and project confidence will be paramount in building the trust necessary to engage with high-level district officials.
- • You will also be expected to demonstrate leadership qualities by driving cross-functional collaboration internally to achieve strategic goals, ensuring alignment across all departments involved in supporting large district sales.
- • Finally, a visionary mindset is crucial. You must be able to see the bigger picture of how AI can transform education, effectively foster success within large, complex accounts, and strategically allocate your time, resources, and pilot programs to maximize impact and drive long-term partnerships.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven track record as a top seller in previous roles, consistently exceeding targets.
- • Significant experience in EdTech enterprise sales, specifically targeting large K-12 school districts (state-level, strategic accounts), not mid-market.
- • Deep existing connections and established relationships within the East US K-12 education market.
- • Demonstrated success in selling across diverse territories and understanding varied regional procurement environments.
- • Strong understanding of complex sales cycles, including RFPs, pilots, and navigating legal and financial approval processes within educational institutions.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO) to promote work-life balance and employee well-being.
- • Employer-paid health insurance plans, with low-premium options for dental and vision coverage.
- • Generous stock options, vested over four years, offering significant ownership potential.
- • 401k match program to support long-term financial planning.
- • Monthly wellness stipend to encourage healthy lifestyle choices.
