- ⢠As a Regional Merchant Lead for New Verticals at DoorDash, you will drive expansion into high-growth non-restaurant categories such as grocery, convenience, liquor, and retail by identifying, pitching, and onboarding standout local and regional merchants. This field-based role is critical to strengthening DoorDashâs marketplace, accelerating customer acquisition, and unlocking revenue in emerging verticals where youâll operate with autonomy and strategic impact.
- ⢠You will spend 50%+ of your time in the field meeting with merchants across New York, Philadelphia, Jersey City, and Newark, prospecting new partners, delivering tailored pitches, negotiating revenue share agreements, and closing multi-product deals within fast-moving sales cycles. Your day-to-day includes walking into businesses, conducting discovery, presenting DoorDashâs full suite (Marketplace, POS Integrations, etc.), and structuring mutually beneficial partnerships that help merchants grow.
- ⢠You will master DoorDashâs evolving service offerings to solve merchant pain points, apply product knowledge to win deals, and share frontline insights that improve both merchant and customer experiences while contributing to product and strategy feedback loops.
- ⢠You will lead complex negotiations to establish industry-leading economic terms, manage organized sales pipelines, and collaborate cross-functionally with Strategic Sales Managers, Partner Management, and central teams (Strategy, Drive, POS, Marketing) to maximize account value and support category rollouts.
- ⢠You will bring structure to ambiguous, early-stage environments by iterating quickly as categories evolve, supporting new business line development, and turning constant change into a competitive advantage through creativity, resourcefulness, and disciplined execution.
- ⢠You will develop expertise in field sales, strategic deal structuring, and emerging commerce verticals while building a track record of exceeding KPIs, deepening merchant relationships, and shaping DoorDashâs expansion into essential local servicesâpositioning yourself for growth in sales, partnership management, or go-to-market strategy.
đŻ Requirements
- ⢠2+ years of experience in a closing sales role, preferably in outside sales or field-forward environments
- ⢠Proven ability to thrive in complex, multi-product sales cycles and consistently exceed KPIs through disciplined activity and strong execution
- ⢠Demonstrated skill in navigating ambiguity, creating structure in uncharted opportunities, and adapting quickly to fast-changing business environments
- ⢠Strong communication, discovery, and merchant-first mindset with creative and resourceful outreach tactics to engage prospects
- ⢠Ability to travel 50%+ of the time, including overnight stays, and willingness to live in or near New York, NY; Philadelphia, PA; Jersey City, NJ; or Newark, NJ
