đź“‹ Description
- • As a Registered Dietitian at Equip Health Inc., you will be at the forefront of delivering specialized, evidence-based nutrition care for individuals and families navigating the complexities of eating disorders.
- • You will play a pivotal role in the virtual treatment team, collaborating closely with therapists, physicians, and peer/family mentors to provide comprehensive and integrated care.
- • Your primary responsibility will be to guide patients and their families through the process of nutritional restoration, empowering them with the knowledge and skills to foster a healthy and sustainable relationship with food.
- • This involves developing and meticulously implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs and recovery trajectory.
- • A key aspect of your role will be conducting initial nutrition assessments via telehealth, establishing a baseline understanding of the patient's current eating patterns, nutritional status, and psychological relationship with food.
- • Based on these assessments, you will prescribe personalized meal plans, adhering to Equip's established feeding philosophy and meal planning approach, while also determining appropriate target weight ranges for recovery.
- • You will actively guide patients through the challenging yet crucial process of exposure to fear foods and challenging eating situations, providing consistent support and encouragement.
- • Effective communication is paramount; you will clearly articulate each patient's meal plan, any specific nutritional concerns, and progress updates to all members of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
- • You will also be responsible for educating families and team members on how to effectively address and resolve nutrition-related challenges, ensuring a unified approach to care.
- • A critical component of Equip's model is presenting a united front to families; therefore, you will consistently echo and reinforce the directives and strategies established by the broader treatment team in your interactions.
- • Your role extends to assisting with discharge planning, ensuring a smooth transition for patients and families as they move towards sustained recovery and independence.
- • You will be expected to update treatment plans on a weekly basis, documenting patient progress, treatment goals, specific nutrition-related assignments or directives, and any emerging nutrition concerns.
- • Continuous reassessment of nutritional needs is essential, and you will proactively communicate your findings and recommendations to both the treatment team and the families you serve.
- • A significant part of your work will involve delivering evidence-based nutrition education specifically designed to challenge and reframe irrational thoughts, beliefs, and anxieties surrounding food, nutrition, weight, and shape that often perpetuate eating disorder behaviors.
- • You will focus on establishing and nurturing strong therapeutic relationships with families, characterized by rapport building, the establishment of appropriate professional boundaries, and the cultivation of a collaborative working alliance focused on achieving shared treatment goals.
- • Meticulous and timely documentation within Equip’s electronic medical record system is a non-negotiable requirement, adhering strictly to all company policies and procedures.
- • You will manage a caseload of up to 80 patients, providing dedicated care for each for up to 52 weeks, requiring excellent organizational and time management skills.
- • This role demands a proactive approach to patient care, ensuring that all assigned duties are completed efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall success of the treatment program.
- • You will be an integral part of a fully virtual company, embracing the unique opportunities and challenges of remote healthcare delivery.
- • Your work will directly contribute to Equip's mission of making evidence-based eating disorder treatment accessible to everyone, impacting thousands of lives positively.
- • You will be part of a dynamic, fast-paced environment that values innovation, collaboration, and a deep commitment to patient recovery.
- • This position requires a minimum of 30 hours of availability per week for direct patient care, including new patient consultations and follow-up sessions.
- • A crucial requirement is the ability to commit to at least 16 hours of direct patient care after 2 pm in your local time zone throughout the week.
- • Furthermore, you must be available to work until 8 pm two evenings per week (Monday-Thursday), with the flexibility to adjust your start time on those specific days.
- • Attendance at mandatory meetings, such as Group Supervision, Treatment Huddles, Labs/All Hands, and Individual Supervision, is expected.
- • This role is based in the Central Time Zone, requiring alignment with this schedule for patient care and team collaboration.
