Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • As a Registered Dietitian at Equip Health Inc., you will play a pivotal role in delivering specialized, evidence-based nutrition care to individuals and families navigating the complexities of eating disorders. Operating within a fully virtual, collaborative treatment model, you will be instrumental in empowering patients to achieve lasting recovery by fostering a healthy and sustainable relationship with food.
  • • Your primary responsibility will be to manage all nutrition-related aspects of patient care, working closely with families to equip them with the necessary skills for nutritional restoration, particularly for children and adolescents. This involves a deep understanding of family-based treatment approaches and a commitment to providing compassionate, individualized support.
  • • You will develop and implement comprehensive, individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs and recovery journey. This process begins with an initial nutrition assessment conducted via telehealth, followed by the prescription of a structured meal plan that aligns with Equip’s feeding philosophy and meal planning approach. You will also assess and monitor target weight ranges as part of the recovery process.
  • • A key component of your role will be guiding patients through the process of exposure to fear foods and challenging eating situations. This requires a nuanced understanding of food psychology and the ability to provide consistent, encouraging support to help patients overcome their anxieties and build confidence.
  • • Effective communication is paramount. You will clearly articulate each patient's meal plan, any special nutrition-related concerns, and progress to all members of the interdisciplinary treatment team. This ensures a unified approach to care and allows for seamless collaboration.
  • • You will be expected to echo the treatment team’s directives in your interactions with families, presenting a united front to reinforce the therapeutic alliance and treatment goals. This consistency is crucial for building trust and facilitating progress.
  • • Your responsibilities extend to assisting with discharge planning, ensuring a smooth transition for patients and families as they move towards sustained recovery. This includes providing them with the tools and knowledge to maintain healthy habits independently.
  • • You will meticulously update treatment plans on a weekly basis, documenting patient progress, treatment goals, nutrition-related assignments, and any emerging concerns. This ongoing reassessment allows for dynamic adjustments to the treatment plan as needed.
  • • You will continuously reassess nutritional needs and communicate your recommendations to both the treatment team and the families, ensuring that care remains responsive to the patient's evolving condition.
  • • A significant part of your role involves delivering evidence-based nutrition education. This education will focus on challenging irrational thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors surrounding food, nutrition, weight, and shape that perpetuate the eating disorder.
  • • Establishing a strong therapeutic relationship with families is essential. This includes building rapport, setting appropriate professional boundaries, and fostering a collaborative working alliance with the treatment team and family members to achieve shared treatment goals.
  • • You will maintain thorough and accurate documentation within Equip’s electronic medical record system, adhering strictly to Equip’s policies and procedures. This ensures compliance and facilitates continuity of care.
  • • You will manage a caseload of up to 80 patients, with each patient potentially receiving care for up to 52 weeks, requiring excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • • You will be expected to provide 30 hours of availability per week for direct patient care, including new patient consultations and follow-up sessions. This includes a commitment to at least 16 hours of direct patient care after 2 pm in your time zone (3 pm if in Mountain Standard Time Zone) to accommodate Pacific Time Zone patients, and working until 8 pm two evenings per week (Monday-Thursday).
  • • You will also attend mandatory meetings such as Group Supervision, Treatment Huddles, Labs/All Hands, and Individual Supervision, contributing to the collective learning and operational efficiency of the team.
  • • This role requires the ability to understand and balance business needs with clinical priorities in a fast-paced, innovative, and rapidly changing virtual environment.
  • • You will contribute to Equip's mission of making evidence-based eating disorder treatment accessible to everyone, leveraging your expertise to make a tangible difference in the lives of patients and their families.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Licensed Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) required.
  • • Minimum of a bachelor's degree or college coursework accredited or approved by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND).
  • • Experience in eating disorder treatment is strongly preferred; experience with family-based eating disorder treatment approaches is a plus.
  • • Ability to manage a caseload of up to 80 patients and provide 30 hours of direct patient care per week, including specific evening availability.
  • • Strong communication, collaboration, and interdisciplinary team experience.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, and AD&D insurance, with Equip paying a significant percentage of premiums.
  • • Generous Parental Leave and a Flex PTO policy (3-5 weeks/year recommended) plus 11 paid company holidays.
  • • $70,000 - $85,000 Annual Earning Potential plus Annual Target Performance Bonus.
  • • Loan Repayment assistance ($500-$1000/quarter based on tenure) and reimbursement for licensing fees and continuing education (up to $1000/year stipend + unlimited online courses).
  • • Home office stipends for internet ($50/month) and a one-time work-from-home setup ($500).
  • • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for mental health, legal, and financial support.
  • • 401k Retirement Plan.
