- • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory compliance matters across U.S., UK, EU, Canada, and Australia jurisdictions, ensuring all operations adhere to local and international financial regulations.
- • Design, implement, and maintain compliance frameworks for MoonPay’s end-to-end fiat-to-crypto payment platform, including AML, KYC, sanctions screening, and transaction monitoring systems.
- • Collaborate with legal, product, and engineering teams to embed compliance requirements into product development lifecycles, ensuring new features meet regulatory standards before launch.
- • Monitor evolving regulatory landscapes in key markets and proactively update internal policies, procedures, and controls to maintain continuous compliance.
- • Conduct internal audits and risk assessments to identify gaps in compliance processes and recommend corrective actions with clear timelines and ownership.
- • Prepare and submit regulatory filings, reports, and documentation to financial authorities in supported jurisdictions, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- • Train cross-functional teams on compliance obligations, including customer support, sales, and onboarding teams, to foster a culture of regulatory awareness.
- • Work closely with third-party vendors and service providers to ensure their systems and processes align with MoonPay’s compliance standards and contractual obligations.
- • Respond to regulatory inquiries, subpoenas, and investigations with precision, coordinating internal resources to deliver complete and compliant responses.
- • Maintain detailed documentation of all compliance activities, decisions, and audits to support external audits and regulatory examinations.
- • Partner with the fraud prevention and security teams to align compliance controls with anti-fraud measures, reducing exposure to financial crime and reputational risk.
- • Stay current on global regulatory developments in digital assets, including MiCA, FATF guidelines, FinCEN rules, and FCA requirements, and translate them into actionable internal policies.
- • Advocate for compliance-by-design principles across all product and operational initiatives, ensuring regulatory considerations are integrated from concept to deployment.
- • Represent MoonPay in industry working groups and regulatory consultations to contribute to shaping future standards for crypto payments.
- • Ensure all customer identity verification and transaction monitoring systems are calibrated to meet risk-based thresholds and regulatory thresholds without compromising user experience.
- • Escalate potential compliance breaches or systemic risks to senior leadership with clear analysis, impact assessment, and recommended mitigation strategies.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience in regulatory compliance within fintech, payments, or cryptocurrency industries
- • In-depth knowledge of AML/KYC, sanctions screening, and transaction monitoring regulations in the U.S., UK, EU, Canada, and Australia
- • Familiarity with crypto-specific regulatory frameworks such as MiCA, FATF Travel Rule, and FinCEN guidelines
- • Ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and translate them into operational controls
- • Experience working with regulatory authorities and preparing formal compliance submissions
- • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple compliance priorities
