📋 Description

• As a Remote Assist Specialist at Aurora Innovation Inc., you will play a crucial role in expanding the Tactical Development Test Operations team by monitoring and supporting autonomous vehicle testing, ensuring safety and performance through real-time intervention and feedback.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities include maintaining up-to-date knowledge of self-driving technology, emulating commercial operations during feature testing, sending remote commands to autonomous vehicles, resolving trigger requests from development fleet vehicles, logging high-fidelity feedback on autonomy performance, escalating operational blockers with solutions, storm searching for workflow improvements, triaging remote assist workflows and on-road events, and interacting professionally with the public and stakeholders as a representative of Aurora’s mission.
• You will join a team of passionate, intelligent individuals tackling massively complex problems in self-driving technology, where you’ll grow as an expert while contributing to a safer, more efficient, and accessible transportation ecosystem. Aurora operates with integrity, sets outrageous goals, and fosters a culture where winning together is paramount—without any jerks.
• In this role, you will develop deep expertise in autonomous vehicle operations, hone your ability to identify subtle system anomalies under pressure, refine your decision-making in high-velocity environments, and build strong cross-functional communication skills—positioning you for growth in technical operations, safety validation, or autonomous systems engineering.

🎯 Requirements

• Ability to constantly focus on a laptop monitoring proprietary tooling to aid autonomous vehicle operations
• Keen attention to detail with the ability to spot subtle anomalies in telemetry that others might miss
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to provide clear, actionable feedback to cross functional stakeholders
• Valid U.S. driver’s license (5+ years history), clean driving record, and ability to pass drug/alcohol screenings
• 100% in-office availability with willingness to work rotating shifts (early mornings, late nights, or weekends) with 2 week notice, and regular overtime as needed
