📋 Description

• The client is seeking a Full-Time Remote Structural Steel Estimator who will take ownership of the estimating process.
• This role will work closely with the owner to prepare accurate project estimates, allowing leadership to focus on project management and business operations.
• The Structural Steel Estimator will prepare accurate cost estimates for structural steel fabrication projects, including structural steel, miscellaneous steel, stairs, handrails, and pre-engineered metal building installations.
• The role will involve reviewing architectural and structural drawings, specifications, and bid documents, performing quantity takeoffs using estimating software and manual markups when necessary, obtaining and evaluating vendor and supplier quotations for steel packages, materials, and subcontracted work.
• The Structural Steel Estimator will work directly with company leadership to understand estimating methodologies, labor rates, overhead, and target profit margins.
• The role will also involve ensuring estimates are accurate, complete, and aligned with project profitability goals.
• The Structural Steel Estimator will utilize various estimating and construction management software platforms, including Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Procore, and similar tools.
• The role will also involve maintaining organized bid documentation and supporting project transitions after contract award.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field preferred.
• 3–12+ years of U.S. commercial construction estimating experience.
• Strong experience in structural steel fabrication estimating.
• Experience estimating miscellaneous metals and fabricated steel packages.
• Proven experience obtaining vendor quotations and managing material pricing.
