  • • As a Remote Mortgage Loan Officer at Zillow Home Loans, you will play a pivotal role in transforming the home financing experience by originating purchase mortgage loans for customers introduced through Zillow’s ecosystem, directly contributing to the company’s mission of making homeownership more accessible and seamless.
  • • You will guide borrowers from initial contact through loan closing, ensuring a best-in-class customer experience while operating in either a high-volume, lead-driven environment or a consultative, relationship-based model, depending on your strengths and background.
  • • You will be part of Zillow Group’s innovative FinTech division, working within a collaborative, high-energy team that leverages industry-leading technology, centralized operations, and Zillow’s powerful brand to reshape how consumers buy, sell, and finance homes.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities will include originating and managing purchase mortgage loans from application to closing, ensuring full compliance with federal and state regulations, and maintaining active NMLS licensing through ongoing education.
  • • You will convert company-provided purchase opportunities into funded loans by proactively following up with leads, conducting effective borrower consultations, and tailoring financing solutions based on individual needs and market trends.
  • • You will build and nurture strong relationships with customers and, where applicable, with Zillow Preferred Agents and local partners to foster long-term referral networks and repeat business.
  • • You will manage an active loan pipeline while meeting defined service levels, productivity metrics, and funding expectations, using Zillow’s CRM, loan origination systems (LOS), and data-driven tools to track performance and optimize customer engagement.
  • • You will partner closely with centralized processing, underwriting, and closing teams to ensure loans move efficiently through each stage, minimizing delays and enhancing the borrower experience.
  • • You will deliver consistent, high-quality service via phone, email, and text communication, demonstrating responsiveness, empathy, and professionalism at every touchpoint.
  • • You will stay current on evolving market trends, lending programs, and regulatory requirements to provide accurate, compliant, and competitive financing options to borrowers.
  • • You will maintain active state licensing, complete required continuing education, and participate in ongoing professional development to uphold industry standards and advance your expertise.
  • • This role includes the collection, storage, and use of voiceprints for operational and compliance purposes, ensuring adherence to quality and security protocols.
  • • You will be eligible for incentive compensation in addition to a competitive base pay, with actual earnings tied to experience, performance, and loan production outcomes.
  • • You must be physically located in and working remotely from Massachusetts, as your principal place of residence, with limited flexibility to work from company offices; relocation outside the state requires company approval and may be denied based on business needs.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 3+ years of mortgage origination experience with a strong focus on purchase transactions, either as an active NMLS-licensed Loan Originator or under a federal bank license.
  • • Completion of the 20-hour CORE Pre-Licensing Education and successful passage of the SAFE Mortgage Loan Originator Test – National Component with Uniform State Content.
  • • Physically located and working remotely from Massachusetts, with your principal place of residence within the state.
  • • Proven success originating purchase loans in either a high-volume, phone-based sales environment or an agent-centric referral model.
  • • Strong client service orientation with consultative sales skills and a deep understanding of the mortgage process from application to closing.
  • • Comfortable working in a structured, performance-driven environment with clearly defined KPIs, productivity metrics, and funding expectations.
  • • Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to build trust quickly with diverse borrowers and partners.
  • • Strong time management, organization, and pipeline management skills to handle multiple loans simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • • Proficiency with CRM, loan origination systems (LOS), and Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
