- • Manage inbound and outbound calls to set up prescription orders, coordinate with medical providers, patients, and pharmacy staff to ensure timely medication delivery
- • Input patient data and prescription information accurately into the pharmacy information management system
- • Assist pharmacists in filling prescription orders in accordance with state board of pharmacy regulations
- • Take verbal prescription orders from licensed prescribers, as permitted by applicable state laws
- • Transfer prescriptions between dispensing pharmacies, following legal and regulatory guidelines
- • Review patient insurance coverage status and adjudicate claims for prescription orders
- • Enter prescriptions into the pharmacy system with precision and compliance
- • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of and strictly adhere to all applicable pharmacy laws, regulations, and ethical standards
- • Communicate professionally and courteously with patients, clinics, caregivers, and physicians to support positive patient experiences
- • Work within clearly defined standard operating procedures and scientific methods to ensure consistent, high-quality service
- • Apply acquired knowledge and skills to complete standard pharmacy technician tasks independently
- • Learn and apply new information and methods to improve efficiency and accuracy in assigned responsibilities
- • Maintain active state or national certification in good standing as a registered or certified pharmacy technician
- • Work under moderate supervision with regular review of output by a work lead or supervisor
- • Identify and refer complex or unusual problems to supervisors for resolution
- • Adhere to all quality guidelines and compliance standards in daily operations
- • Support the safe and efficient dispensing of prescription medications to retail and specialty pharmacy customers
- • Contribute to community healthcare by building trusted relationships with patients and care providers
- • Ensure accurate and timely processing of orders for acute care hospitals, ambulatory care facilities, oncology and cardiology practices, and retail patients
