📋 Description

• Research Engineer role focused on delivering frontier-quality datasets, RL environments, and evaluations to improve state-of-the-art AI models for leading labs and enterprise clients.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include translating research goals into data specifications, designing task suites and validation systems, auditing data quality, building synthetic data pipelines, running evaluations to measure impact, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality outputs.
• Turing is a San Francisco-based research accelerator for frontier AI labs, trusted by global enterprises, with leadership from Meta, Google, Microsoft, and top academic institutions; recognized by Forbes, The Information, and Fast Company as a top innovator.
• In this role, you will develop deep expertise in data-centric AI improvement, influence model behavior through high-quality data design, work on cutting-edge capabilities like multimodal reasoning and embodied AI, and gain visibility into how data drives real-world AGI progress.

🎯 Requirements

• 4–5 years of experience building or improving deep learning systems where data quality mattered materially
• Python proficiency required
• Strong intuition for data ingredients that drive model improvements: what to collect, filter, synthesize, and measure
• Ability to communicate clearly with researchers and engineers to turn objectives into specs and outputs into insights
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose subtle data quality issues and failure modes with extreme detail orientation
• Solid programming ability with a bias for shipping; comfort with SQL/structured data workflows strongly preferred
