Research Manager | Translation Quality

📋 Description

• • As a Research Manager at DeepL, you will lead the Translation Quality Research team, focusing on advancing and defending core translation models to maintain market leadership against top-tier general-purpose models.
• • You will drive the achievement and rigorous evaluation of DeepL's baseline translation quality, shape and prioritize the research agenda, and own the estimation aspect of the product pipeline by building models that determine when a translation requires human review.
• • You will lead a team of research scientists by inspiring, developing, recruiting, and motivating high performers, setting development plans, and fostering a candid, non-retaliatory feedback culture through strong 1:1 relationships.
• • You will define and communicate strategic goals, roadmap, and success metrics in collaboration with stakeholders across tech, product, sales enablement, and customer success, acting autonomously to push for results and define the team's path forward.
