📋 Description

• Lead the end-to-end revenue cycle management (RCM) operations for Candid Health’s portfolio of clients, overseeing billing, EDI, payment posting, reconciliation, and denial management.
• Hire, manage, and mentor high-performing onshore and offshore RCM teams, ensuring operational excellence and consistent delivery of key financial outcomes.
• Drive RCM KPIs by actively engaging in claim-level and claim cohort analysis alongside billers and billing leads, maintaining a hands-on approach to tactical execution.
• Build and refine standardized playbooks, workflows, and data management frameworks to scale RCM operations efficiently across growing customer portfolios.
• Dynamically allocate team resources and adjust priorities based on fluctuating demand, new customer onboarding, and evolving service requirements.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for complex customer issues, providing expert consultation and decisive resolutions in partnership with Customer Strategy & Operations.
• Collaborate closely with Customer Support, Customer Strategy & Operations, Product, and Engineering teams to identify systemic issues and implement proactive, long-term solutions.
• Set the strategic direction for scaling the RCM department, aligning operational growth with Candid Health’s evolving business model and market expansion.
• Represent Candid Health externally with payers, partners, and customers, fostering strong relationships and ensuring trust in service delivery.
• Maintain deep familiarity with multi-state billing, telehealth billing, and diverse medical specialties across the revenue cycle.
• Implement preventative strategies using technology to reduce denials and rejections upstream, shifting focus from reactive resolution to proactive optimization.
• Communicate complex RCM concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, in writing and in person.
• Monitor key metrics to inform resourcing decisions, capacity planning, and performance improvements across all RCM functions.
• Maintain direct involvement in daily operations while leading strategic initiatives, balancing leadership responsibilities with hands-on execution.
• Ensure alignment between RCM processes and customer success goals, contributing to improved client retention and satisfaction.
• Support the development of data transparency tools and reporting systems to enhance visibility into revenue cycle performance across teams and clients.

🎯 Requirements

• 8–12+ years of medical billing experience, including 2–3+ years leading large, high-performing RCM teams in complex, dynamic environments
• Proven experience managing both onshore and offshore RCM teams
• Strong track record of driving revenue outcomes and operational efficiencies in RCM functions
• Deep experience across EDI enrollments, payment posting and reconciliation, denial resolution and management, and multi-state/telehealth billing
• Analytical mindset with ability to investigate claim-level issues and implement data-driven improvements
• Ability to roll up sleeves and execute tactically alongside team members while leading strategically

• Estimated annual salary range of $150,000–$185,000 USD
• Equity compensation as a significant component of total pay

• Flexible work arrangement: fully remote for candidates outside NYC, SF, or Denver; 4 days in-office/1 day remote for those within these metro areas
