• • **Day-to-Day Responsibilities:**
• • **Own the ERM Framework:** Develop, implement, and manage Mews’ enterprise risk management (ERM) framework, including risk appetite statements, risk assessments, stress testing, and Board-level reporting. Ensure the framework aligns with regulatory expectations and supports the company’s growth ambitions.
• • **Regulatory Oversight and Compliance:** Act as the primary point of contact for the Dutch Central Bank (DNB) and other regulators on risk-related matters. Provide independent risk oversight for new products, strategic initiatives, and major changes to ensure compliance with financial services regulations.
• • **Internal Control Framework:** Design and maintain a fit-for-purpose internal control framework covering critical areas such as payments, safeguarding, liquidity, ICT, outsourcing, and incident management. Ensure controls are effective, efficient, and adaptable to Mews’ evolving business needs.
• • **Risk-Based Testing and Monitoring:** Lead risk-based testing, monitoring, and follow-up on incidents, control weaknesses, and audit findings. Drive continuous improvement by identifying trends, proposing mitigations, and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
• • **Stakeholder Collaboration:** Work closely with first-line teams (e.g., product, commercial, and operations), the Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO), and the Management Board to provide pragmatic, business-oriented risk advice. Balance compliance requirements with the need for agility, enabling teams to innovate and scale rapidly.
• • **Risk Culture and Training:** Foster a strong risk culture across the organization by developing training programs, providing guidance, and communicating risk principles in clear, actionable language. Ensure all employees understand their role in managing risk and embed risk-aware decision-making into daily operations.
