- • As a Risk Strategist in Stripe’s User Risk Strategy org, you will help unlock revenue by expanding supportability for users in highly regulated industries, embedding within Sales account teams to provide high-quality risk advisory support for onboarding large enterprise users.
- • Day to day, you will evaluate emerging Financial Services use cases for supportability, develop frameworks for responsible market access, perform research and analysis on Stripe’s risk performance, challenge the status quo with alternative solutions, represent Stripe in external engagements with critical partners, and execute special projects and ad hoc analyses as risks and opportunities evolve.
- • You will partner closely with Compliance, Legal, Financial Partnerships, Product, and Credit Risk teams to design and execute custom risk mitigation strategies for users in the Financial Services vertical, while also guiding the growth of novel business models like predictive markets, P2P money transmission, and stablecoin remittance in a risk-conscious manner.
- • The User Risk Strategy org protects and advances Stripe’s business, brand, and mission by building market-leading policies and practices that instill user and partner trust while enabling business growth, offering you the opportunity to shape how Stripe scales responsibly in complex financial ecosystems.
- • In this role, you will develop deep expertise in financial services risk, regulatory navigation, and cross-functional strategy, gaining influence across Sales, Legal, Product, and Engineering teams while driving impact on Stripe’s ability to serve innovative and highly regulated businesses globally.
🎯 Requirements
- • 5+ years of professional experience, preferably in Financial Services, Payments or FinTech industries
- • Familiarity with banking and money movement regulations, including KYC/KYB, AML, OFAC compliance, and credit and fraud risk
- • Experience in developing risk strategies and solutions and working with technical (product and engineering) and operations teams to implement them
- • Ability to distill complex, ambiguous regulatory issues into clear, concise, and reliable guidance for stakeholders and Stripe users
- • Strong stakeholder management skills, including experience influencing product/engineering, sales, data science, and operations teams
- • Demonstrated track record of deriving insights from complex or technical problem spaces and evangelizing actionable product recommendations
- • The ability to take ownership, be accountable, and lead without formal authority
- • Entrepreneurial and curious mindset, strong communication and interpersonal skills
- • Ability to operate independently, navigate ambiguity, and solve problems with the end user in mind
- • Strong analytical skills and operating rigor
- • Strong executive presence and presentation skills, including experience engaging with leadership
