- • Analyze GPU and CPU hardware failures by evaluating system logs, performance data, firmware behavior, and workload interactions to determine root causes of system-level failures in Vultr’s cloud infrastructure.
- • Perform advanced troubleshooting across hardware, firmware, and operating system layers to validate faults and identify appropriate remediation paths including repair, replacement, or escalation.
- • Serve as the primary technical liaison between Vultr and hardware vendors, providing detailed diagnostic data, interpreting vendor responses, and influencing resolution strategies to ensure timely and accurate outcomes.
- • Coordinate on-site hardware remediation activities based on technical analysis, system impact, and priority, guiding both internal teams and external vendors on repair or replacement actions.
- • Evaluate software and firmware versions to identify compatibility issues or contributing factors to recurring hardware failures in server environments.
- • Validate and certify system stability and readiness before returning repaired or replaced hardware to production environments.
- • Identify recurring failure patterns across GPU, CPU, and server systems and recommend improvements to RMA workflows, vendor processes, and hardware lifecycle management practices.
- • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation including failure analysis reports, troubleshooting methodologies, diagnostic procedures, and resolution outcomes.
- • Manage and contribute to technical case documentation within vendor support portals, ensuring all records are accurate, complete, and audit-ready.
- • Collaborate closely with Infrastructure, Engineering, and Vendor teams to improve system reliability and enhance the efficiency of Vultr’s RMA operations.
- • Adapt to emerging hardware technologies and evolving infrastructure environments to resolve novel or unprecedented system failures.
- • Utilize Jira to manage, track, and document technical issues, RMA cases, and vendor escalations with precision and consistency.
- • Maintain familiarity with Confluence and other vendor support portals to ensure seamless documentation and communication across teams.
- • Support operations within distributed infrastructure and microcloud environments, applying knowledge of system architecture and hardware integration to diagnostic processes.
- • Apply strong judgment to determine optimal resolution paths for complex, non-routine technical failures in high-availability data center environments.
- • Communicate technical findings clearly and effectively in both written and verbal form to cross-functional stakeholders and vendor partners.
- • Contribute to continuous improvement of Vultr’s hardware lifecycle management processes through data-driven insights and process documentation.
- • Ensure compliance with privacy and data protection regulations including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, when handling technical and personal data in support of RMA activities.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
- • 3–5 years of experience managing RMA processes or hardware logistics in a technical environment
- • Experience using Jira to manage, track, and document technical issues, RMA cases, and vendor escalations
- • Hands-on experience with NVIDIA and/or AMD GPU technologies
- • Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting complex hardware and system-level issues in a data center or infrastructure environment
- • Familiarity with analyzing system logs, firmware behavior, and performance metrics to determine root cause
