• • Design and run monthly, quarterly, and annual compliance examinations that compare contractual terms against incoming royalty streams, flagging underpayments, incorrect splits, missing advances, and misapplied escalations with forensic precision.
• • Build and maintain scalable SQL queries, Python scripts, and Excel models that automate ingestion, mapping, and variance analysis—reducing manual effort by 40 % while increasing accuracy to 99.8 %.
• • Partner directly with client finance, legal, and business-affairs teams to interpret complex license agreements, side letters, and amendments, translating legalese into crystal-clear royalty rules that drive every calculation.
• • Produce executive-ready dashboards in Tableau or Power BI that visualize trends in earned revenue, market share, and collection efficiency, enabling clients to make faster, data-driven decisions about catalog strategy and release planning.
• • Lead deep-dive investigations into high-value discrepancies—ranging from multi-million-dollar shortfalls to micro-penny rounding errors—documenting findings in concise memos that stand up to Big-4 audit scrutiny.
• • Coordinate with external auditors, collection societies, and digital service providers during on-site or virtual audits, serving as the authoritative voice for Focus’s methodology and ensuring all supporting evidence is organized and defensible.
• • Continuously refine internal control checklists and SOPs, incorporating lessons learned from each audit cycle to tighten controls, shorten close cycles, and elevate client trust.
• • Mentor junior analysts on advanced Excel techniques, SQL best practices, and the nuances of music-industry royalty structures, fostering a culture of technical excellence and shared ownership.
• • Stay ahead of industry shifts—such as new streaming payout models, NFT royalties, and emerging-market collection societies—proactively briefing clients and updating internal models to capture every new revenue opportunity.
• • Champion cross-functional initiatives with Product and Engineering to enhance the proprietary royalty platform, translating user pain points into detailed specs that accelerate roadmap delivery and client ROI.
• • Present quarterly business reviews to senior leadership, spotlighting key wins, systemic risks, and strategic recommendations that influence investment decisions and client retention strategies.
