📋 Description

• Serve as a senior Field Applications Engineer supporting Cadence customers in digital implementation and signoff, focusing on Place and Route, Design Closure, timing, and power signoff for advanced semiconductor designs.
• Collaborate directly with customers to guide them in leveraging Cadence’s EDA tools to achieve optimal PPA (Power, Performance, Area) targets and accelerate design closure timelines.
• Conduct technical presentations, product demonstrations, and evaluations to drive adoption of Cadence’s digital implementation solutions.
• Lead technical benchmarks and evaluations to ensure successful customer outcomes and validate tool performance against customer-specific design requirements.
• Work closely with Cadence R&D teams to translate customer feedback into product enhancements, influencing the roadmap for next-generation EDA tools and methodologies.
• Develop and refine custom Tcl and scripting-based flows to optimize digital implementation workflows, improve automation, and enhance design efficiency.
• Capture, document, and institutionalize best practices and lessons learned from customer engagements to increase success rates in future deployments.
• Drive the proliferation of Cadence technologies by demonstrating superior technical expertise and building trusted advisor relationships with key engineering teams at leading semiconductor companies.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior application engineers within the team, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality customer support.
• Maintain deep expertise in nanometer-scale design flows, including physical implementation, IR drop analysis, static timing analysis, and power integrity verification.
• Act as a technical liaison between customers and internal product teams to ensure customer requirements are accurately represented in Cadence’s tool development cycle.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies in digital IC design, particularly at advanced nodes, to provide forward-looking guidance to customers.
• Support sales efforts by providing technical credibility and demonstrating the value proposition of Cadence’s digital implementation and signoff solutions.
• Utilize scripting languages (Tcl, Perl, Python) to automate tasks, customize flows, and solve complex customer-specific implementation challenges.
• Ensure all customer engagements align with Cadence’s commitment to innovation, technical excellence, and customer success.

🎯 Requirements

• 10+ years of industry experience in Physical Design for ICs
• BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• Strong knowledge of Digital Design Fundamentals, Semiconductor fundamentals, and Static Timing Analysis
• Prior experience with IC digital implementation flows and backend EDA tools (Place and Route, IR Drop, timing/power closure)
• Experience with advanced nodes 10nm and below
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Tcl, Perl, or Python
• Strong customer-facing communication and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated drive for continuous learning and professional development
