  • • As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Astronomer, you will be at the forefront of our sales engagement, serving as the initial point of contact for prospective customers and playing a pivotal role in driving the sales pipeline. Your primary mission will be to identify, engage, and qualify high-potential leads, introducing them to Astronomer's innovative solutions, particularly our industry-leading unified DataOps platform, Astro, powered by Apache Airflow®. You will be instrumental in setting up meaningful and productive conversations for our Account Executives, directly contributing to the company's growth and success.
  • • This role is ideal for individuals who are ambitious and eager to build a robust career in sales, especially those passionate about working with cutting-edge technology that resonates deeply with data teams. You will be empowered to make a significant impact by connecting potential clients with solutions that help them bring mission-critical software, analytics, and AI to life, accelerating the building of reliable data products that unlock insights, unleash AI value, and power data-driven applications.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass a wide range of proactive sales activities. You will be expected to conduct thorough research on potential customers, employing a multi-channel approach that includes outbound calls, targeted emails, and strategic engagement on platforms like LinkedIn. The goal is to build and maintain a strong, consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities.
  • • A crucial aspect of your role will be to effectively qualify both inbound and outbound leads. This involves a deep understanding of prospect needs, budget considerations, and their intent to adopt our solutions, ensuring that only Sales Qualified Leads (SQLs) are passed to the Account Executive team.
  • • You will collaborate closely with both the Sales and Marketing departments. This partnership is essential for refining MQL-to-SQL conversion strategies, ensuring a continuous flow of high-quality leads, and aligning outreach efforts with broader company objectives. Your feedback will be invaluable in shaping our go-to-market strategies.
  • • To excel in this role, you will leverage a suite of essential sales tools. This includes proficiency in CRM systems like Salesforce, sales automation platforms, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator, which will be critical for tracking engagement, managing your pipeline, and sharpening your outreach tactics.
  • • Continuous learning and adaptation are key. You will be expected to stay informed about industry trends, understand evolving customer pain points within the data engineering and analytics space, and keep abreast of Astronomer's expanding value proposition. This knowledge will enable you to conduct insightful conversations that clearly articulate how Astro can solve complex business challenges.
  • • You will be accountable for achieving and exceeding your pipeline goals. This includes targets for outreach volume, the number of qualified meetings set, and conversion rates. Your performance will be measured by your ability to consistently hit and surpass these key performance indicators, demonstrating your drive and effectiveness.
  • • The role requires resilience and self-motivation. You should be comfortable navigating the inherent challenges of sales, such as handling rejection, and maintain a persistent focus on achieving your objectives. The ability to break down complex technical concepts into understandable benefits and connect them directly to a prospect's business needs is paramount.
