📋 Description

• Be the technical linchpin in every high-stakes deal. You will sit shoulder-to-shoulder with Account Executives from first discovery to signed contract, translating complex product capabilities into clear business value for multi-day tour operators who run once-in-a-lifetime trips across 50+ markets.
• Own the technical win. Design and scope custom API integrations, craft bespoke demos, and spin up proof-of-concepts that prove WeTravel can become the invisible engine powering a client’s entire sales, payment, and back-office workflow.
• Translate “tech talk” into revenue. In live workshops and remote calls, you’ll simplify webhooks, tokenized payments, and fund-flow architecture for CFOs, product managers, and operations leads who need to trust that their travelers’ money is safe and their suppliers get paid on time.
• Build the integration blueprint. Map client requirements to WeTravel’s vertical SaaS platform, identify gaps, and collaborate with Product & Engineering to prioritize roadmap items that unblock six- and seven-figure opportunities.
• Create durable enablement assets. Produce integration guides, best-practice playbooks, and internal cheat-sheets that level-up every AE and CSM so the next deal moves even faster.
• Champion client feedback loops. Escalate feature requests, surface edge-case scenarios, and run post-mortems that turn one-off custom work into scalable platform improvements.
• Stay hands-on. Spin up Postman collections, write lightweight Python or JavaScript scripts to validate payloads, and occasionally push small configuration changes that unblock a prospect during a trial.
• Travel (virtually and physically). Jump on calls from Boston to Bangkok, then meet the team in Amsterdam HQ for 2–4 weeks each year to whiteboard, pair-program, and celebrate wins in one of our WeTravel apartments.
• Protect the ecosystem. Because WeTravel is both agent of payees and merchant of record, you will ensure every integration meets compliance, risk, and fund-protection standards that keep bad actors out and good operators growing.
• Thrive in ambiguity. Multi-day travel is a fragmented, fast-moving industry; you’ll relish turning “we need this yesterday” into a phased rollout plan that delights clients and keeps our engineering sprints sane.
• Mentor and be mentored. Share your pre-sales war stories in weekly team huddles, while learning fintech, payments, and travel-tech nuances from colleagues who’ve scaled vertical SaaS before.
• Measure what matters. Track demo-to-close conversion, integration time-to-value, and client NPS to continuously refine your approach and prove the Sales Engineering team’s revenue impact.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years in a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or Technical Pre-Sales role at a B2B SaaS company (3+ years with exceptional API integration experience will be considered)
• Demonstrated hands-on experience with REST APIs, webhooks, and data integrations; able to read, test, and explain JSON payloads to both engineers and finance stakeholders
• Outstanding communication & presentation skills—comfortable leading technical discovery, white-boarding architectures, and delivering tailored demos to C-level audiences
• Commercial mindset with exposure to enterprise or strategic sales cycles; you understand MEDDICC, deal velocity, and how technical decisions affect pricing and contract terms
• Proven ability to collaborate across Sales, Product, and Engineering teams; you can escalate blockers without drama and translate customer urgency into actionable tickets
• Based in the United States (East Coast timezone) with legal right to work; open to hybrid schedule if located in Chicago or fully remote within eligible states
