  • • As a Sales Engineer at Gist Ads, you will serve as the technical bridge between ProRata’s AI-powered advertising platform and publisher, SSP/DSP, and platform partners, ensuring seamless integration and performance of ad solutions.
  • • Your day-to-day responsibilities include owning end-to-end technical integrations with publisher partners, SSPs, GAM, DSPs, and platform technology partners; leading technical working sessions with ad ops teams and engineers; serving as the primary technical point of contact during and after integration; and providing implementation support for Gist’s AI-contextual ad unit formats across web, app, and emerging AI environments.
  • • You will work closely with the Business Development team to provide technical scoping, feasibility assessments, and integration planning to support deal structuring, translate product capabilities into technically credible narratives, and build and maintain integration documentation, tag specs, API guides, and technical FAQs.
  • • You will act as the primary feedback loop between live partner integrations and the Ads Engineering and Product teams, surfacing implementation pain points and partner requests to shape the product roadmap, collaborate on new ad unit development to ensure partner feasibility, and help define and evolve Gist’s technical integration standards and API documentation.
  • • Occasionally, you will support the Sales team with technical pre-sales needs such as RFP responses, solution design, and proof-of-concept scoping, though this is not the primary focus of the role.
  • • The role is remote-friendly with expected travel of 25–30% for partner visits, integrations, and industry events, and is based in major US markets including Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, and Austin.

  • • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in programmatic advertising, gain hands-on experience with emerging AI ad surfaces, and grow as a technical leader shaping the future of ad tech through real-world partner integrations and product innovation.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 5–9 years of experience in AdTech, programmatic advertising, or digital media with hands-on technical depth, ideally in Sales Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Ad Ops, or Technical Account Management
  • • Mastery of the programmatic ecosystem: OpenRTB, header bidding (Prebid.js), SSP/DSP integrations, ad serving (GAM/DFP), tag management, and bid stream mechanics
  • • Experience working across the supply chain — publisher-side ad ops, SSP solutions, DSP integrations, or agency trading desk technical teams
  • • Comfort reading and writing code at a functional level (JavaScript, Python, or similar); ability to review tag implementations, debug API calls, and interpret log-level ad data without hand-holding from Engineering
  • • Strong understanding of ad quality, brand safety, viewability measurement, and third-party verification (IAS, MOAT, DV) as they apply to display and emerging format types
  • • Experience supporting integrations with major SSPs (Index Exchange, Magnite, PubMatic, Xandr, Teads, Sovrn, or similar) and/or DSPs
  • • Exceptional communication skills — able to lead technical conversations with engineers and simplify complex concepts for non-technical stakeholders
  • • Startup mindset: thrives in environments where the product is still being defined and the playbook doesn’t exist yet
  • • Bonus: experience with AI ad surfaces, contextual targeting, or native ad units; familiarity with GEO/AEO concepts and AI-driven content environments
