- • As a Sales Representative, you will be entrusted with a dedicated territory of colleges and universities. Your primary responsibility will be to cultivate and nurture professional relationships with professors, effectively communicate the immense value of Top Hat's offerings, and guide them through the process of becoming valued clients. You will be instrumental in helping educators enhance their teaching methodologies and usher in a new era of educational engagement.
- • Your role will involve showcasing how Top Hat's suite of products, including our digital textbook content and sophisticated SaaS platform, empowers both students and professors. You will articulate how these tools foster greater classroom interaction, drive deeper student engagement, and ultimately lead to improved learning outcomes. In essence, you will be a catalyst for positive change, contributing to a better educational experience for students, one professor, one classroom, and one institution at a time.
- • This position is designed as an in-territory sales role, requiring a significant commitment to on-campus engagement. You can expect to spend approximately 40%-50% of your time annually visiting campuses within your assigned territory. During peak sales seasons, which typically run from mid-January through May and mid-August through mid-December, this on-campus presence may increase to as much as 75% of your time.
- • Your day-to-day activities will involve strategic prospecting of professors, conducting compelling product demonstrations, and managing the entire sales cycle from initial contact to closing deals. This requires a proactive approach to identifying new business opportunities, understanding the unique needs of academic departments, and tailoring solutions that resonate with educators.
- • You will be a key player in driving new business acquisition, finding, creating, facilitating, and closing sales opportunities within your assigned accounts. This involves a deep understanding of our product suite and the ability to articulate its benefits in the context of higher education challenges.
- • A crucial aspect of this role is representing and selling the comprehensive range of Top Hat and approved partner products and services. This includes not only our innovative SaaS platform but also our curated digital textbook content, ensuring clients have access to a holistic educational solution.
- • You will masterfully position and message Top Hat’s unique value proposition to professors and department leaders, employing a strategic blend of inside and outside sales techniques. This requires adaptability and the ability to connect with diverse stakeholders through various communication channels.
- • Collaboration is key to success. You will work in close partnership with Customer Success Managers to ensure a seamless and positive customer experience post-sale. Furthermore, you will liaise with internal product and marketing teams to align sales efforts with product development and market strategies, ultimately maximizing revenue growth and customer satisfaction.
