- • Sell VWR’s extensive portfolio of products and services consultatively to researchers, scientists, and operational staff in the pharmaceutical, biotech, and industrial market segments across Pennsylvania and Maryland.
- • Prospect and establish new customers by managing a sales pipeline and developing tailored proposals that articulate VWR’s value proposition.
- • Conduct consultative sales interactions to identify customer needs, recommend appropriate solutions, and close sales within a complex B2B environment involving multiple decision-makers.
- • Work with sales management to develop and execute strategic territory business plans aimed at achieving sales growth and quota attainment.
- • Build and sustain long-term relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction, loyalty, and account retention.
- • Expand VWR’s role with existing customers by developing retention strategies aligned with evolving customer requirements and market demands.
- • Leverage company-defined sales processes such as SPIN, Challenger, and Miller Heiman to drive sales effectiveness and customer engagement.
- • Utilize Salesforce.com and Qlikview to manage customer data, track sales activities, and report on pipeline performance.
- • Collaborate with local manufacturer representatives to enhance product knowledge, secure favored pricing, and improve account profitability.
- • Represent VWR in building and maintaining strong relationships with manufacturers and partners in the scientific supply chain.
- • Execute and implement company marketing and sales strategies across the PA/MD region to maximize market penetration and revenue growth.
- • Manage a diverse product portfolio and ensure accurate product recommendations based on customer operational needs.
- • Travel to customer locations four or more days per week to conduct in-person sales visits and demonstrations.
- • Work independently from a home office environment while effectively managing time, territory, and multiple priorities under routine deadlines.
- • Demonstrate strong analytical skills to assess customer operations, identify sales opportunities, and develop strategic account plans.
- • Communicate effectively with business owners, decision-makers, internal staff, and external partners to resolve issues and drive outcomes.
- • Maintain proficiency in Microsoft Office applications to prepare reports, proposals, and presentations.
- • Perform other duties as assigned to support overall sales objectives and team goals.
🎯 Requirements
- • College degree or equivalent/applicable experience
- • 3-5 years of experience in a complex B2B sales environment with solution-based selling and multiple stakeholders in purchasing decisions
- • Proven track record of verifiable sales success using consultative and strategic selling approaches
- • Business-to-business sales experience with preference for distribution background and/or scientific/laboratory research environment
- • Willingness to travel to customer locations 4+ days per week
- • Proficiency in Salesforce.com and Qlikview, and familiarity with sales methodologies like SPIN, Challenger, or Miller Heiman
