- • The Sales Support Analyst role at Dow Jones & Company, Inc. is critical to ensuring the smooth and accurate execution of sales operations across the Global Sales Team. By managing administrative workflows, maintaining CRM data integrity, and facilitating communication between sales, legal, billing, and order management teams, this role directly enables revenue recognition, contract compliance, and customer satisfaction. It serves as the operational backbone that allows sales representatives to focus on selling while ensuring every transaction is processed correctly from order to invoice.
- • This position offers a unique opportunity to gain deep exposure to Dow Jones’s market-leading financial and energy information products—including The Wall Street Journal, Factiva, and OPIS—while developing expertise in sales operations, contract lifecycle management, and CRM systems within a prestigious, globally recognized media and information services organization.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include providing comprehensive administrative support to the Global Sales Team, such as preparing and submitting sales orders, updating and maintaining accurate records in CRM platforms (Salesforce.com or NetSuite), and ensuring all contract data is correctly entered and tracked through to final billing.
- • The role involves supporting Field Sales with end-to-end contract administration: drafting new customer contracts, amending existing agreements, chasing purchase orders, verifying signed documents, and confirming payment details to prevent delays in invoicing and revenue recognition.
- • Acting as a liaison between sales representatives and corporate legal when contractual redlining or legal review is required, ensuring compliance and minimizing risk while maintaining timely turnaround on agreement revisions.
- • Collaborating closely with order management, billing, and finance teams to reconcile sales data, resolve discrepancies, and ensure timely and accurate reporting of sales performance metrics.
- • Continuously evaluating existing sales support processes to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements that enhance speed, accuracy, and scalability across the sales operations function.
- • Proactively managing a high-volume workload with professionalism and composure, prioritizing tasks effectively to meet deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- • Building and sustaining strong internal relationships with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders, demonstrating initiative, reliability, and the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively in both written and verbal formats.
- • The Sales & Operations Planning/Support Group within Dow Jones’s OPIS (Oil Price Information Service) business area is a collaborative, results-driven team focused on enabling sales excellence through operational precision and process innovation. Employees here benefit from working alongside seasoned professionals in a culture that values accuracy, integrity, and continuous improvement.
- • In this role, you will develop valuable transferable skills in CRM administration, contract management, sales process optimization, and cross-functional coordination—competencies highly sought after in sales operations, revenue operations, and business analyst roles across industries. You’ll also gain industry-specific knowledge of energy commodity markets, positioning you for advancement within Dow Jones’s energy-focused divisions or broader financial information sectors.
🎯 Requirements
- • 2+ years of experience in sales administration, sales support, customer service, or a similar operational support function
- • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Gmail, Docs, Sheets)
- • Experience with Salesforce.com or NetSuite CRM systems is highly advantageous; familiarity with CRM data entry, contract tracking, and order management workflows preferred
- • Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-volume environment
- • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—both written and verbal—with the confidence to engage diverse stakeholders, including sales reps, legal teams, and external clients
- • Fluency in English; additional language skills are a plus depending on regional market focus
- • Demonstrated ability to remain calm, proactive, and solution-oriented under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor
- • Knowledge of or strong interest in energy commodity markets is preferred, given the role’s alignment with the OPIS business area
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive base salary range of $65,000–$80,000, with potential for performance-based bonuses tied to individual and company goals
- • Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, retirement savings (401k with company match), life insurance, and disability coverage
- • Access to elective benefits allowing personalized wellness, caregiving, transportation, and lifestyle support tailored to individual needs
- • Commitment to professional development through training resources, internal mobility opportunities, and exposure to industry-leading financial and information products
- • Remote work flexibility within the USA, enabling work-life balance while contributing to a global team
- • Employer commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility, including reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities
- • Opportunity to work for a historic, globally respected brand (Dow Jones) with legacy brands like The Wall Street Journal and Factiva, enhancing professional prestige and network value
