📋 Description

• The SAP HCM Tester (ECC to S/4) role is critical to ensuring the quality and reliability of SAP Human Capital Management solutions during a major system migration from SAP ECC to S/4HANA. This position directly supports Technitask’s mission to deliver high-value SAP implementations for clients in utilities, telecommunications, and public sectors by validating that business processes function correctly post-migration, minimizing disruption and maximizing user adoption.
• As a key member of the testing team, you will collaborate closely with functional consultants, developers, and project managers to validate SAP HCM configurations, identify defects early, and ensure seamless transitions that uphold data integrity and process accuracy across core HR functions.
• You will support the design and development of comprehensive test scripts and test cases tailored to SAP HCM modules, including end-to-end process validation for delta design changes and Fiori application updates, ensuring alignment with business requirements and technical specifications.
• You will execute manual testing activities such as User Acceptance Testing (UAT), System Integration Testing (SIT), and regression testing across SAP GUI and Fiori interfaces, meticulously recording results and validating that all HCM processes — including personnel administration, organizational management, time management, and payroll interfaces — function as expected.
• You will develop and maintain detailed defect documentation using standard tracking tools, clearly outlining steps to reproduce issues, expected vs. actual behavior, and impact assessments to enable efficient triage and resolution by development teams.
• You will act as a liaison between testing and development teams, communicating defect findings with clarity and precision, participating in defect review meetings, and working collaboratively to remediate issues through root cause analysis and retesting.
• You will contribute to continuous improvement of testing practices by suggesting enhancements to test coverage, documentation standards, and defect reporting processes based on lessons learned during the migration lifecycle.
• You will operate within a collaborative, remote-first team environment at Technitask, a Canadian IT services provider with 17+ years of SAP expertise and a proven track record delivering solutions for major clients including Hydro One, Liberty Utilities, the Government of Canada, and the Province of Ontario.
• You will gain deep exposure to SAP S/4HANA migration methodologies, particularly in the HCM domain, strengthening your expertise in enterprise SAP testing and positioning you for advancement into senior testing, QA lead, or SAP functional consulting roles.
• You will develop advanced skills in translating complex business requirements into actionable test scenarios, refining your ability to bridge technical and functional teams — a highly valued competency in enterprise SAP implementations.

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience in SAP software testing, including UAT, SIT, and regression testing within SAP ECC or S/4HANA environments, with specific exposure to SAP HCM module testing.
• Proven ability to design, develop, and execute detailed test scripts and test cases for SAP HCM processes, including end-to-end validation of Fiori apps and delta configuration changes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated experience in defect identification, documentation, and collaboration with development teams to reproduce and remediate issues.
• Excellent communication skills, particularly in writing clear, concise defect reports and translating technical findings into understandable business language.
• Familiarity with SAP GUI and Fiori interfaces; knowledge of test automation tools (e.g., SAP TAO, Selenium, or similar) is considered a nice-to-have.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a remote setting, managing time effectively to meet testing milestones within EST business hours (8 a.m. – 5 p.m.).
