đź“‹ Description

  • • As a Secondary Social Studies Curriculum Developer at Miaplaza Inc., you will play a pivotal role in shaping the educational experience for middle and high school students by creating immersive, academically rigorous, and socially relevant learning materials that support the company’s mission to provide accessible and inclusive homeschool curriculum solutions.
  • • You will design and develop comprehensive social studies content—including video scripts, assessments, and written learning activities—for grades 6–12, ensuring alignment with pedagogical best practices, state and national standards, and the diverse learning needs of students in a fully remote, asynchronous environment.
  • • Your work will directly contribute to Miaplaza’s growing K–12 platform, which serves a rapidly expanding student base through innovative, student-centered learning experiences in subjects such as Civics, Economics, World History, US History, Psychology, Sociology, Philosophy & Ethics, and AP-level courses.
  • • You will collaborate closely with subject-matter experts, instructional coaches, and the production team to refine content based on feedback, educational outcomes, and evolving pedagogical research, ensuring materials remain engaging, accurate, and effective.
  • • You will leverage technology including Google Workspace (Slides, Sheets, Docs), Figma, and screencasting tools to produce high-quality multimedia lessons that are visually compelling, logically structured, and accessible to learners with varied abilities and backgrounds.
  • • You will differentiate instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles, language proficiencies, and cognitive needs, applying principles of universal design for learning (UDL) and culturally responsive pedagogy to ensure equity and inclusion in every lesson.
  • • You will write clear, measurable lesson objectives and align all instructional materials—assessments, activities, and multimedia—to those objectives, ensuring coherence and accountability in the learning progression.
  • • You will continuously evaluate and refine content using student performance data, educator feedback, and educational research to improve engagement, comprehension, and long-term retention.
  • • You will participate in special cross-functional projects, such as curriculum updates, new course launches, or interdisciplinary initiatives, allowing you to expand your impact beyond core responsibilities.
  • • You will enjoy significant autonomy and flexibility in managing your schedule (30–40 hours/week), with the ability to work asynchronously while meeting deadlines and attending weekly team meetings during U.S. business hours.
  • • You will grow professionally through ongoing feedback, performance-based compensation reviews twice yearly, and opportunities to deepen expertise in curriculum design, educational technology, and innovative pedagogy within a mission-driven, supportive remote team.
  • • You will join a values-driven organization committed to equity, innovation, and student success, where your contributions directly empower homeschooling families and learners who thrive outside traditional classroom settings.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Minimum of 2 years of full-time social studies classroom teaching experience in core subjects (Civics/Government, Economics, World History, US History) at the 6–12th grade level
  • • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Education or a social studies-related field
  • • Proven ability to write clear, measurable lesson objectives and create objective-aligned instructional materials
  • • Experience differentiating instruction to accommodate diverse learning styles, needs, and abilities
  • • Proficiency with Google Slides, Sheets, and Docs for instructional design and collaboration

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive hourly pay range of $25.12–$34.50 (equivalent to ~$52,250–$71,760 annually at 40 hrs/week), with performance-based compensation reviews twice per year
  • • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance including fertility benefits, mental health services, chiropractic care, FSA, and HSA options
  • • 401(k) retirement plan with employer match, all-purpose PTO (approx. 139 hours/year), floating holidays, parental leave, and free/discounted site memberships for employees’ families
  • • 100% remote work flexibility (within or outside the U.S.), no travel required, with schedule autonomy to work as a morning person, night owl, or hybrid
  • • Free site memberships for employees and discounted MiaPrep Online High School tuition for household children, plus two additional memberships for other children in their lives
