📋 Description

• As a Security Advisor at Nelnet, you will provide expert information security and privacy consulting and compliance services to campus-based organizations, including higher education institutions, healthcare providers, and government agencies, helping them meet critical regulatory and industry standards.
• Your day-to-day responsibilities include conducting onsite and remote assessments, performing gap analyses, reviewing customer policies and infrastructure, making remediation recommendations, preparing reports, and supporting sales and marketing efforts through presentations and client consultations.
• You will join CampusGuard, a Nelnet company, which specializes in delivering world-class information security and compliance services using frameworks like NIST SP 800-53, 800-171, NIST CSF, PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR, and more, serving clients across education, healthcare, utilities, and hospitality sectors.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in information security frameworks, develop client-facing consulting skills, contribute to remediation strategies, and grow professionally through engagement with diverse industries and compliance landscapes.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or 5 years’ experience in information security or privacy, with practical application of security/privacy controls to business systems and processes.
• At least one of the following certifications: CISSP, CISA, CISM, CIA, or GSNA.
• Understanding of information security, compliance, and privacy frameworks including NIST SP 800-171, NIST CSF, ISO 27000, GLBA, GDPR, and PCI DSS.
• Ability to travel 25 to 50% of the time for onsite customer assessments and engagements.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.
