  • • Join UltraViolet Cyber, a pioneering platform-enabled unified security operations company, and make a tangible difference in safeguarding critical information assets. We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Security Control Assessor (SCA) to join our dedicated team supporting a premier customer in Portland, Oregon. This is a unique opportunity to leverage your expertise in information security (INFOSEC) to plan and execute complex assessments, directly contributing to our clients' robust risk management frameworks.
  • • As an SCA at UltraViolet Cyber, you will be at the forefront of ensuring our clients' security posture is resilient and compliant. You will be responsible for conducting thorough assessments of security controls, identifying potential vulnerabilities and control deficiencies, and developing actionable remediation strategies. Your work will be instrumental in helping our clients navigate the dynamic threat landscape and maintain the highest levels of security.
  • • This role demands a proactive and analytical approach. You will meticulously plan and execute assignments within the INFOSEC specialty area, ensuring all activities align with established security standards and best practices. This includes understanding and applying various assessment methodologies to evaluate the effectiveness of implemented security controls.
  • • A key aspect of your role will be to support comprehensive risk management activities. You will analyze assessment findings, document control deficiencies with precision, and provide clear, concise recommendations for remediation. Your insights will guide clients in strengthening their security defenses and mitigating identified risks.
  • • Furthermore, you will play a crucial part in validating the corrective actions taken by clients. This involves re-assessing controls post-remediation to confirm that identified deficiencies have been effectively addressed and that the security posture has been demonstrably improved. This iterative process ensures continuous security enhancement.
  • • The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks (such as NIST, ISO 27001, etc.), and common security controls. You will be adept at interpreting technical documentation, conducting interviews with stakeholders, and analyzing evidence to support your assessment findings.
  • • You will collaborate closely with client IT and security teams, as well as internal UltraViolet Cyber teams, to foster a shared understanding of security requirements and to facilitate the implementation of recommended improvements. Effective communication and interpersonal skills are vital for building strong working relationships and driving successful outcomes.
  • • This position requires a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of integrity and professionalism. You will be entrusted with sensitive information and will be expected to handle it with the utmost confidentiality and care.
  • • The role involves a significant degree of independent work, requiring self-motivation and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively. You will be expected to deliver high-quality work within established timelines.
  • • UltraViolet Cyber is committed to fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development. We encourage our team members to stay abreast of the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies, and we provide opportunities for growth and advancement within the company.
  • • By joining UltraViolet Cyber, you become part of a team of experienced security practitioners who are passionate about delivering cutting-edge security solutions. You will contribute to a company that is revolutionizing cybersecurity operations through a unique blend of technology innovation and human expertise, making advanced real-time cybersecurity accessible to organizations of all sizes.
  • • This role is based in NE Portland, OR, and requires a dedicated presence at the client site. Successful candidates will be required to obtain security clearance and successfully complete a drug screening as part of the onboarding process. This ensures the integrity and security of the environments you will be supporting.
  • • Your contributions as a Security Control Assessor will directly impact the security posture of our clients, helping them to protect their critical data and systems from evolving cyber threats. You will be a key player in our mission to provide comprehensive, real-time cybersecurity solutions.
