Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • As Ben Technologies Inc.'s Security Lead, you will own end-to-end security across product, cloud infrastructure, internal systems, and trust/compliance, serving as the primary authority on security matters and directly influencing enterprise customer trust and retention through your expertise in safeguarding sensitive data and systems.
- • You will act as Ben’s security lead in enterprise customer and prospect conversations, including due diligence calls, security questionnaires, and trust centre content, translating complex technical controls into clear, confident explanations for both technical and non-technical stakeholders to reinforce Ben’s reputation as a secure partner.
- • You will own and improve Ben’s security controls across identity and access management (IAM), endpoint security, cloud infrastructure (AWS), product security, and corporate IT, ensuring alignment with ISO 27001:2022 standards and preparing for pragmatic SOC 2 implementation as the company scales.
- • You will lead continuous monitoring, threat detection, incident response, and improvement initiatives across the environment, leveraging EDR, MDM, ZTNA, and similar tools to maintain resilience against evolving threats while maturing the ISMS through risk assessments, vendor reviews, and policy updates.
- • You will embed secure-by-design principles into the software development lifecycle by conducting threat modelling, architecture reviews, secure code reviews, and CI/CD hardening, working closely with engineering teams to ensure security is proactive rather than reactive.
- • You will collaborate closely with the CTO on security strategy and priorities while exercising day-to-day autonomy in decision-making, balancing hands-on engineering tasks (e.g., reviewing pull requests, hardening AWS IAM) with strategic risk judgement and cross-functional influence.
- • You will contribute to GenAI governance as Ben integrates AI features into production, ensuring responsible innovation that maintains compliance and trust without impeding product velocity.
- • You will join a mission-driven company where security is not a cost centre but a revenue-enabling function — enterprise customers choose Ben in part because of its strong security posture, and you will be the person who owns and communicates that advantage.
- • You will build upon an already strong foundation: Ben is ISO 27001:2022 certified with established AWS controls and a functioning ISMS, allowing you to focus on scaling and strengthening security rather than establishing it from scratch, in a culture that values ownership, ambiguity, and impact over bureaucracy.
🎯 Requirements
- • Hands-on security experience in a SaaS, cloud-first, or product-led environment, with 4–6 years of relevant background and readiness to own a security function for the first time.
- • Strong working knowledge of identity and access management (IAM) in both corporate and product contexts, particularly with Microsoft’s security ecosystem (Entra, Intune, Defender), or the ability to rapidly get up to speed.
- • Proven experience securing AWS environments and embedding security into product development via threat modelling, secure code review, and CI/CD pipeline hardening.
- • Familiarity with endpoint and corporate security tools such as EDR, MDM, or ZTNA, even if not the exact stack used at Ben.
- • Experience with compliance frameworks (ISO 27001 or SOC 2), including conducting risk assessments, maintaining controls, and translating technical implementations into audit-ready evidence.
- • Confidence in engaging enterprise customers, including the ability to explain security posture clearly to CISOs, technical teams, and non-technical stakeholders during due diligence and trust conversations.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive base salary plus equity, allowing you to directly own the value you help create.
- • £100 monthly personal Ben Balance for flexible spending (e.g., Netflix, Spotify, coffee), increasing by £50 per year of service up to £250.
- • 28 days of annual holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to buy or sell 2 days per year, increasing to 30 days after 3 years of service, plus a birthday day off.
- • Enhanced parental leave and workplace nursery scheme to support childcare costs in a nursery setting.
- • Comprehensive Private Medical Insurance and funded Life Assurance cover with optional voluntary increase, including an annual health check.
- • Comprehensive and tailored mental health support and professional coaching through a leading provider.
- • Work-from-abroad scheme enabling extended travel or time with loved ones while remaining employed.
- • Weekly lunch provided in the office to foster team connection and collaboration.
