📋 Description

• • As a Senior Accountant at Coinbase Global, Inc., you will be an integral part of the UK Finance team, playing a crucial role in scaling the company's presence within the UK and the broader EMEA region. This position is designed for a versatile finance professional who thrives in a dynamic, regulated fintech environment and is driven to enhance long-term efficiency through automation.
• • You will report directly to the UK Head of Finance, serving as a key operational partner. Your responsibilities will span daily finance operations, contributing to the sharpening of forecasts, modeling various financial scenarios, and transforming raw data into clear, board-ready insights.
• • A significant aspect of your role will involve collaborating with cross-functional teams across the US, EMEA, and India to operationalize new business areas and meticulously review upcoming product launches, ensuring financial readiness and compliance.
• • You will be responsible for ensuring strict adherence to internal controls, policies, and procedures governing all platform accounting activities. This includes developing and maintaining up-to-date process documentation and standard operating procedures.
• • A key duty will be to analyze financial data against business drivers to identify emerging trends, potential issues, and opportunities for improvement. This analytical rigor will support strategic decision-making.
• • You will provide essential support for both internal and external audits, specifically within your areas of responsibility, ensuring all documentation and explanations are accurate and readily available.
• • A core focus will be contributing to and leading automation and efficiency initiatives aimed at streamlining reconciliations and other accounting processes, leveraging technology to enhance accuracy and speed.
• • You will play a vital role in the preparation and/or review of month-end and quarter-end close processes. This includes owning the UK IFRS books of accounts and associated reconciliations, maintaining major accounting policies, and making necessary adjustments to financial statements.
• • You will oversee the critical monthly accounting adjustments required to reconcile US GAAP to local IFRS standards, ensuring accuracy and compliance with both reporting frameworks.
• • Supporting regulatory reporting requirements will be a key responsibility, ensuring that Coinbase meets all necessary financial disclosure obligations within the UK and EMEA.
• • You will monitor and oversee outsourced finance services, diligently ensuring that performance meets or exceeds agreed-upon Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• • As part of the global finance function, you will contribute to the month-end close cycle, collaborating with international teams to ensure a cohesive and accurate financial close.
• • You will be expected to support ad hoc financial information requests from the UK Head of Finance and other key stakeholders, providing timely and accurate data as needed.
