📋 Description

• Perform complex balance sheet and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
• Execute month-end close processes including journal entries, account analysis, and financial statement preparation.
• Prepare and submit financial reports to state and federal regulatory agencies in accordance with mandated requirements.
• Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits, providing documentation and resolving audit findings.
• Review and analyze income statements and balance sheets for variances, anomalies, and compliance issues.
• Utilize Lawson, Blackline, and Excel to input, reconcile, and report financial data with high precision.
• Serve as a technical resource for finance counterparts across departments, resolving system and accounting discrepancies.
• Research and correct errors in the general ledger to maintain integrity of financial records.
• Interface with department leaders to gather, interpret, and disseminate financial data for operational decision-making.
• Support budgeting processes by preparing materials, training facility managers, monitoring progress, and summarizing budget status.
• May act as Cost Center/Program CFO, identifying operational efficiencies and assisting with budget development and financial report interpretation.
• Maintain accurate statistical, contractual, and financial databases as assigned by management.
• Ensure all financial reporting adheres to established policies, regulatory standards, and professional accounting practices.
• Work independently with minimal supervision, prioritizing multiple projects and meeting strict deadlines.
• Stay current with developments in financial accounting, compliance regulations, and software tools such as Lawson and Blackline.
• Provide timely and accurate financial information to internal management and external regulatory bodies to support effective operations.
• Demonstrate strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills while working in a fast-paced healthcare finance environment.
• Perform all duties in alignment with Banner Health’s core values and service excellence standards.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3–5 years of experience in healthcare finance with demonstrated proficiency in financial statement preparation and analysis
• Proficiency in Lawson, Blackline, and Excel
• Strong analytical, statistical, and financial modeling skills
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities
• Knowledge of healthcare regulatory reporting requirements
